Chapter 23 - Too Freakish

Tarkan carefully read through the description and effect of the divine talent

---

[Talent: Divine Comprehension (SSS RANK): The All-Understanding]

---

From the little he could learn from the short description and the name, it simply implied that he could comprehend anything with this talent.

By looking or observing anything he could comprehend anything with this talent

As for what he could or could not comprehend, Tarkan would have to explore that himself to find out.

At the very least, the description was straightforward.

The name alone All-Understanding was enough to create curiosity and a sense of mystery in him.

Though his thoughts ran deep, Tarkan stayed highly alert to his environment.

Crock… crock…

A strange, guttural croaking echoed nearby.

Following the sound, Tarkan spotted a group of frogs far larger than normal hopping toward him from a distance

Their bodies were bulky and muscular for amphibians

Before entering the Ascension Realm, Tarkan had nothing in his possession apart from the clothes he was wearing

he had No weapon, No gear, Nothing to defend himself with.

But he wasn't worried.

According to the information he'd received, he would be teleported not far from a human settlement.

There, he'd be required to register his information before exploring the region freely.

Tarkan was confident he was currently in a safe area one that had already been cleared of most dangerous monsters by the nearby settlement.

Still, he couldn't help staying vigilant,

There was no telling what creatures might still linger on the outskirts.

Then, something unexpected happened.

Tarkan suddenly had a strange feeling an instinct that he could comprehend the frogs.

It wasn't a rational thought, more like a gut feeling tied directly to the divine talent he'd just awakened.

Following the feeling, Tarkan tried to use his talent.

His irises briefly flashed golden as he focused his gaze on the creatures.

He looked at the frog for a moment, and almost immediately, a strange sensation welled up inside him like a puzzle piece put into place.

---

[Eyes of Comprehension has succeeded.]

[Congratulations on obtaining: Croak Boost (Talent) – F RANK]

---

Tarkan's heart trembled with disbelief.

This… this… this… this was too freakish, Right?

Still stunned, he quickly opened the talent description

---

[Croak Boost – The user gets a slight jump enhancement if they croak beforehand. The louder the croak, the better the jump.]

---

Tarkan was shocked and at the same time, dumbfounded.

"What kind of trash, shit talent is this?" he muttered aloud, face filled with disbelief.

He stared at the frogs.

They were almost close enough to reach him now.

He didn't need to think twice and without hesitation, he turned around and sprinted in the opposite direction.

There was no way he was planning to fight, not for now at least

Any battle could potentially draw more monsters to his location, and worse still, he had no weapon to fight with.

He had already learned the hard way from the Awakening Trial that fighting unprepared could cost dearly

And He wasn't planning on wasting his precious timer or feel any unwarranted pain because of a bunch of frogs.

His footsteps pounded the mossy ground as he pushed through thick branches and dangling vines.

His speed was impressively faster than he ever recalled running back in his old world.

Thanks to the enhancement of the awakening ground

But he wasn't stopping

Leaves rustled behind him, and the croaking frogs eventually faded.

After what felt like several minutes, Tarkan slowed down, panting lightly but steady.

His senses were heightened, his body adapting quickly to this world's environment.

The forest around him was dense, filled with towering trees.

It wasn't long before he saw people

To be precise, a group of people entering the forest as if they were going on a hunt.

He squinted and took cautious steps forward, staying behind a thick formation of trees for cover.

As he got closer, he could see them more clearly.

A group consisting of two women and three guys, all of them geared up, wearing armor and holding swords, staffs, and other weapons.

They walked in formation, communicating casually, though their eyes stayed alert.
