BRITTANY'S POV
What was I hearing? Wedding? Who was I getting married to?
Before I could ask anything, I was tugged by the same group of ladies who dressed me before this awkward event.
Everything was getting more and more confusing, and no one was willing to explain anything to me, which was very annoying.
I was on the verge of shouting at all of them, but was I given the chance to react to anything? No!
The next thing I knew I was in the room with those ladies. I had to ask what was going on before I collapsed.
"May I know your names?" I needed to start a conversation with them. They introduced themselves one by one and said they were assigned to be my personal maid. However, Gloria was my main personal assistant and if I needed anything she was the one I should seek.
I had Gloria, Hannah and Patricia. They were all beautiful and coincidentally had blue eyes.
"My name is Brittany and trust me I have a lot of questions about what is going on. Where am I and wedding... who is getting married?" I still had more questions for them, but I believed that I should ask accordingly.
Gloria smiled at me. "Come on," I urged her to speak.
"You are the one getting married, your highness. You chose Alpha Giovanni earlier during the ritual and both of you are getting married immediately we are done here," her explanation only made things more confusing for me.
I shook my head as the information did nothing but made my head spin. "I chose him? In what way?"
"By following his smell."
Oh, that made sense to me now. That was what the old man meant by following the smell but why did I have to choose? They could have chosen the one they wanted, why me? I mean they were the one in power.
"Why did i have to choose? The old man could have just..."
"Who are you referring to as old man?"
"The one who gave me something to drink and made me dizzy?"
"That is the pack's healer. Healer Enzo," Gloria said. But how was I supposed to store all these names in my head?
"Oh, I see," I responded. "Why am i getting married? Wasn't I supposed to be killed by you all?"
"Huh?" Gloria sounded confused. "Kill you? Why would we do that? The only enemy we the Lycan wolf have is the werewolves. Humans aren't our enemies."
This information wasn't helping discover why I was here and why I was getting married to... did she say Lycan? What are Lycan?
I decided to know her response to the question that had been in my mind. "Is it possible that I return home?"
"I'm afraid not, your highness. Once Alpha Giovanni marks you, you will become one of us and we Lycans and humans cannot exist together. It simply isn't done that way."
I wondered why but I couldn't ask her more questions as it felt like I had used all the chances I had for more questions.
However, there was this question I needed answer to so I couldn't help asking. "Is there a reason why the Lycan I am getting married to didn't chose a woman from this place?"
Gloria looked at me and shook her head. "That, I don't know. We follow orders and aren't told why some certain things are made that way, but you could ask him after the wedding. You both would be using the same room."
So, I would be sharing a space with a man I knew nothing about. I didn't even know what he looked like. Why is all this happening to me? It was frustrating and I wish that I could runaway but where? Where was I going to run to?
The only thing I was happy about was that I wasn't dead and I could still find my way to my family even if I became one of them. Although I didn't know what it meant to be one of them.
When Gloria finished with me, she led me out of the room, and we walked again to the large field where everyone gathered earlier.
Now, there was an altar, and the people were all standing but made space for me to meet with the man I was getting married to.
Do you know that I still don't understand what was going on? But I knew that if I did what they wanted, there was still a chance for me.
I was wearing a long white gown this time and he was on a black suit. Who was this Giovanni?
He ignored me like I was invisible when I got to the altar with him. We stood before that old man. What was he called again?
When Giovanni faced me that was when I knew that it was the man I stood in front of after recovering from the drink. So, I chose this man.
He took my hands and gave me that look of disgust. Why was he acting like I wanted him in the first place? It is his town; he should have known of this stupid tradition before acting like I was the one who forced him into his.
"I, Giovanni Constantine, new Ruler/Alpha of the Red Moon Circle, accept Brittany Smith as my Luna and wife. We shall rule the Red Moon Circle together as one for the strength, power and future of the pack."
Whoo, that was a long speech but how did he know my name?
Everywhere became silent, so I looked around and saw Gloria urging me to say something through her gestures.
What was I going to say? I don't know how to give a speech.
"It's your turn, your highness," the healer said. I wish that they would stop calling me that.
"I also accept you, Giovanni," I said even though I hated the way he kept looking at me as if I was dumb. I didn't accept him but to find my way through this unusual place, I had to go with the flow first.
"We now have our Alpha and Luna!" Healer Enzo announced to the crowd, leaving me with a question;
