Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Aiden

I open my eyes and realize I'm in my room. How did I get back here? Was it all a dream? I get out of bed and find a note on my nightstand. "_It was all real, bunny. You passed out and I brought you back to your place! If you hadn't passed out, I wouldn't have stopped possessing you_" the note read. I crumpled up the note and threw it in the trash. Oh my God, what have I gotten myself into? This woman is crazy! I went into the bathroom to take a shower, to wash away the traces of last night. How did I let this happen?

I got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my waist. I went back to my bedroom and my phone vibrated with a message. I looked at the screen and it was an unknown number. _"Good morning, Aiden. I hope you slept well. Last night was just the beginning. See you soon."_ A shiver ran down my spine. I tossed the phone onto the bed and tried to shake off the lingering effects of the night before. As I dressed, I couldn't help but replay the events in my mind.

When I was done changing, I grabbed my backpack and left my room. I went down the stairs, and my mother was in the kitchen as usual. "Good morning, Mom!" I greeted her, kissing her cheek. "I'm sorry I had to leave you alone last night" she said, handing me a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon. "No problem, Mom! I was staying home and it wasn't that bad" I lied. "I'm glad you're okay, honey."

As I ate breakfast, my mother looked me over carefully. "Are you okay, honey?" she asked, her face filled with concern. "You seem a little… distracted." "I'm fine, Mom" I reassured her, forcing a smile. "I'm just thinking about some things." She nodded, though I could tell she wasn't entirely convinced. After I finished eating, I walked out the door, feeling my mother's worried gaze following me.

When I arrived at campus, Milo waved at me and I walked over to him. "Hey dude! Too bad I missed the hunt last night, I wasn't feeling well and had to skip it this time." I patted Milo on the shoulder, giving him a warm smile. "No problem! It wasn't who knows what!" I lied. "So? Which of the hunters caught you?" Milo asked.

I rolled my eyes at Milo. "Nobody got me. I managed to stay hidden the whole time." Milo grinned and clapped his hand on my back. "Way to go, man! That's impressive." He leaned in closer, lowering his voice. "But honestly, I wish someone had caught you. Would have loved to see you getting hunted." I shook my head, feeling a flush creep up my cheeks. "Yeah, well, maybe next time." Milo laughed, clearly amused by my discomfort.

As Milo walked away, laughing to himself, I breathed a sigh of relief. But my respite was short-lived as my phone buzzed in my pocket. Pulling it out, I saw another message from Selena: "_Don't lie to your friend, Aiden. We both know what happened last night."_ My heart pounded as I deleted the message, glancing around nervously to ensure no one had seen it.

_"Let me find it!"_ I wrote, putting my phone in my pocket. I entered the campus and stopped when I saw Selena at the end of the other hallway with her gang. Damn it! "Hey Aiden, are you okay?" Milo asked. "I'm fine, my head just hurts."

The sight of Selena standing at the end of the hallway sent a jolt through me. She looked every bit as commanding and intimidating as she had the night before, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders, her cold gray eyes fixed on me. Her gang stood behind her, their presence adding to the sense of danger that hung in the air. "I need to go" I muttered to Milo, backing away slowly.

I hurried down the hall, my heart pounding in my chest. I could feel Selena's gaze boring into me, following me as I moved. I needed to get away from her, to put some distance between us. The memory of last night still lingered, and being so close to her was overwhelming. "Where are you going?" Milo called after me, but I didn't turn back. I couldn't explain to him what had happened, not with Selena watching.

I pushed through the doors leading outside, the cool air hitting my face and clearing my head. I started walking quickly, trying to put as much space between Selena and me as possible. I had just rounded a corner when I heard her voice, low and dangerous. "Running away from me, Aiden?" I froze, my blood turning to ice in my veins. Slowly, I turned to face her.

She stepped out from the shadows, her eyes locked onto mine. There was a wicked gleam in them, a hunger that sent a shiver down my spine. "You can run" she said, her voice like velvet wrapped around steel, "but you can't hide." My feet rooted to the spot, fear and arousal battling for control. I swallowed hard, trying to find my voice. "Why are you doing this?" I managed to croak out.

The corner of her mouth twitched upward, a hint of a smirk playing on her lips. "Because I can" she replied simply, taking a step closer. Her fingers traced the line of my jaw, sending electric currents throughout my body. " And because I want you." My breath hitched as her thumb brushed over my lower lip, her eyes never leaving mine.

"Enough Selena!" I shouted. "Why don't you find someone else? Stop chasing me!" I turned to get away from her, but she grabbed my wrist and pinned me against the wall, putting my hands behind my back. "First, don't yell at me! Second, I won't stop until I have you! Until I own you, bunny." I felt the hardness in her pants prick my ass. "You won't run away from me! Remember that!" With that, she let go of me and slowly began to walk away from me without taking her eyes off me.

My heart pounded in my chest as I watched her walk away, the threat still hanging heavy in the air. I rubbed my wrists where she had held me, feeling a mix of fear and excitement coursing through my veins. As I turned to leave, I nearly collided with Milo, who had been walking by. "What's going on?" he asked, looking concerned. "Are you okay?" "I-I'm fine" I stammered, trying to compose myself.

Milo raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing me. "You sure about that? Because it looks like you've just seen a ghost." I forced a laugh, trying to brush it off. "Nah, I'm good. Just lost in thought." Milo didn't look convinced, but he let it go. "Well, if you say so. Come on, let's grab some lunch." We walked together towards the cafeteria, but my mind was elsewhere.

As we walked, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled over me. Selena's words echoed in my mind, her threat lingering like a dark cloud. Milo chattered on beside me, oblivious to the turmoil churning inside me. I managed to nod and grunt in response at appropriate moments, but my thoughts were far away. Suddenly, Milo stopped mid-sentence, his eyes widening as he looked past me. "Aiden, watch out!" he yelled.

I turned just in time to see a large, muscular man rushing towards me. His eyes were filled with rage, and a menacing smile was written on his face. "Watch where you're going, you fool!" he growled as he pushed me hard, sending me crashing to the ground. Pain shot through my body as I landed hard on the concrete. Milo rushed towards me, helping me to my feet as he glared angrily at the man who had pushed me.

"Fuck him, asshole!" Milo shouted, stepping forward defensively. "He didn't do anything wrong!" he snorted, flexing his muscles menacingly. "Stay out of this, handsome. It's none of your business." Milo didn't back down, his fists clenched tightly at his sides. "Leave him alone. He's not hurting anyone." The man took a step closer, towering over Milo. "Or what? Are you going to make me?"

The man lunged at Milo, but I quickly intervened, standing between them. "It's okay, Milo" I said calmly, keeping my voice even despite the adrenaline pumping through my veins. "I'll handle it." I turned to face the aggressive stranger, my heart pounding in my chest. He was taller and more muscular than me, but I refused to show any sign of fear. "Look" I said, raising my hands in a nonthreatening gesture.

"We're not looking for trouble!" I said, and the man laughed. "Then watch where you're going!" With those words, the man walked away, and Milo and I sighed with relief. "Let's go into the campus" Milo suggested, and I happily agreed.
