Lucia POV—
It's been a week since I have arrived in this 'palace.' Thankfully, I have found some clues that I needed to solve the mystery of this 'world.' Although, I have to find some more clues to fully grasp whatever happening in this world and the whole Arcaplaxe.
My 'father' and 'sibling' haven't contacted me once. That's kind of nice. I don't want to face them... for now. 'Family,' I suppose.
"Your Highness, are you fine? It's the tenth book that you have read today. I think you like to read," said Martha.
I nodded and replied, "Yes, Martha. I do like to read. It makes my mind clear. Too much idling is not good for mind."
"The same goes for the body." Martha put a cup of tea on the table.
"I don't like tea. I am much a coffee person," I stated. I have a very bad habit of working late. Although I wanted to change this bad habit, Sera made it worse.
Martha bowed, "I am sorry, Your Highness. I will tell the chief to prepare a hot chocolate coffee for you. Do you want something else, Your Highness?"
"How about some macaroons? Hmmm? And please bring some rice crackers as well. They should be spicy. Also, bring some slicked pickled potatoes."
"As you wish, Your Highness." Martha left the library, leaving me alone to bring my snacks. Honestly, I like her. She is a good listener and never forgets my orders.
Ah, I forgot. I can talk now. My body is in its... 'best' condition for now. I have to make this... 'my' body strong. Also, I am no longer attracted to 'myself.' I can certainly tell that I am improving. A lot, if I say.
Huh, where was I? Yeah, I remember. Detroiute is a 'wasteland' of some kind, and by this... I mean, it's not just a general wasteland. It's a fucking wasteland for the rest of the four planets. To understand this, let's go back to the past. Almost three hundred years ago. During that period, a man named Jarved ruled over the entire Arcaplaxe. An emperor who ruled with iron fist, killing anyone who dared to stand on his way. He tortured his people in each and every form known. Almost sixty percent of the people in the five planets were poor. Their lives were akin to a soul burning in hell. Crime rates were above the charts, and people died from many mysterious diseases.
He even banned every form of art.
As the Jarved's cruelty increased, the people started revolting. Unlike before, this time... large groups of people joined their hands for just a single cause. To dethrone him.
Jarved had four ministers. He called them 'The Jewels.' He never thought that the group he had created would betray him. All but one. The one who remained loyal till the end was the 'Minister of Detroiute.' He sold the other three's plan to Jarved.
Jarved, angered by their betrayal, attacked them... including his own planet, the one where he had the full control. Why? Because his son rebelled against him. He shook hands with the three ministers and launched a counterattack.
The battle was ferocious. Millions of people died. But after five years, it was finally over. Jarved's son and the ministers had won the battle. People were finally free from his shackles. They celebrated their freedom by dancing, singing, eating... everything that they were forbidden from.
It was a picture-perfect ending for everyone, except the people of Detroiute.
The 'rebellious' son, who became the emperor, killed the minister and brought hell upon the lives this planet's people. Surprisingly, he was supported by the rest of the four planets. It was a vengeance for them as the people of Detroiute lived a harmonious life as they had supported Jarved in that battle. A price for their 'betrayal' to the other four planets.
"Your Highness, I brought your snacks. Please enjoy them."
I looked at Martha and asked, "Everything?"
"Yes, everything," replied Martha.
"Well, I suppose... eating should be given the preference, right?"
Martha nodded her head. With a smile, she replied, "Your Highness, you need to eat a lot and sleep. You are too young to take any stress, aren't you? So, please enjoy your snacks. You have all the time in the world to read as many books as you want."
'Time?' Hah! Martha, I have everything but that. I don't have the liberty for idling around.
