Duel Academy Principal's Office.

After knocking on the door, and hearing "Come in" from inside.

Yuki Judai pushed open the principal's office door and walked in.

"Ah, Judai-kun. It's still class time, isn't it? Is there something you need me for?"

The principal of the Middle School Section was a thin, middle-aged man with a goatee. Seeing that the visitor was a well-known top student from the first year, the principal smiled and asked kindly.

Yuki Judai didn't speak, only solemnly handed over an envelope.

"Hmm? This is..."

The principal took the envelope from Yuki Judai, opened it, and his expression instantly became a little strange.

"Withdrawal application? Judai-kun, are you going to join the professional duel league?"

"Yes, I hope Principal-sensei can approve it." Yuki Judai said, hands behind his back, his expression unchanged.

"This..." The principal immediately looked troubled. "Judai-kun, do your parents know about this?"

Yuki Judai remained calm: "This matter has nothing to do with them. They will not interfere with my choice."

"But... your admission recommendation letter was personally written by President Kaiba... Regarding this matter, I simply cannot make a decision."

The principal wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. If it were an ordinary top student withdrawing, the principal would only feel regret, and not too much other emotion.

But Yuki Judai was different. His admission recommendation letter had been personally written by the founder of Duel Academy, the president of KaibaCorp, Seto Kaiba. With this connection, Yuki Judai's status was completely different from other students at Duel Academy. The principal had no right to approve Yuki Judai's withdrawal.

"Please rest assured, Principal-sensei, I will explain everything clearly to Mr. Kaiba." Yuki Judai understood the principal's difficulties, but he had already made up his mind about joining the professional league.

"Even so... you could still take a leave of absence from the academy..."

The principal opened his computer and scrolled through Yuki Judai's academy record.

"...You've actually skipped two-thirds of your classes, Judai-kun."

"My apologies." Yuki Judai said without any shame.

The principal almost couldn't maintain his composure, nearly turning into a sweating figure.

Two-thirds of the classes skipped. In other words, in three months since school started, Yuki Judai had only attended classes for one month. Minus the Saturday and Sunday holidays, this kid had barely attended classes for less than two weeks in total.

The key was that despite skipping so many classes, Yuki Judai had passed all his exams with perfect scores in these past few months. Both written exams and practical duels were impeccable.

This kid... truly a genius.

Although a little angry at Yuki Judai's number of skipped classes, looking at his excellent grades, the principal couldn't say another word.

Heaven is truly unfair.

You know, if this kind of talent could be given to a well-behaved child, then...

Sigh.

"With so many absences, even according to school rules, you should be advised to withdraw..."

The principal sighed, then looked at Yuki Judai again. "However, the professional duel league's opening day is in September, isn't it?"

"There's only one month left until the first semester ends. If Judai-kun can attend classes continuously for one month without skipping, then I will approve Judai-kun's withdrawal request."

The principal closed his computer, placed his hands on his nose, and said to Yuki Judai.

"How about it?"

No skipping classes for a month...?

"Okay."

Yuki Judai thought for a moment, then slowly nodded.

Anyway, for middle school classes, Yuki Judai, as an adult who had lived two lives, was already more than familiar with them. At most, he would just play with his phone or sleep in class, living a leisurely life.

"Hmm, that's good..." The principal nodded with satisfaction.

Being able to train a genius into a good student during the month before his withdrawal, he considered himself worthy of his position as principal.

Watching Yuki Judai about to leave.

The principal hastily stood up and called out to Yuki Judai again.

"Wait a moment, Judai-kun."

"Hmm?" Yuki Judai stopped, saw the principal walk over, and hand him a tablet screen.

"Next month is the day when third-year students matriculate to the High School Section."

"Ryo Marufuji, a third-year, specifically requested a cross-grade duel against you."

"I hope you can fulfill this third-year senpai's wish before you withdraw."

The principal patted Yuki Judai's shoulder, smiling.

Ryo Marufuji...?

Yuki Judai looked at the screen, falling silent.

In the original plot, Ryo Marufuji and Yuki Judai did indeed have a 'graduation duel'. But that happened after they had advanced to the High School Section. He didn't expect that this time, in the Middle School Section, Ryo Marufuji also chose him as an opponent...

Is this truly what's fated to happen... or am I unknowingly walking back down Jaden's original path?

"I understand." Yuki Judai nodded.

"I will have this duel with him before I withdraw."
