Chapter 14 - Appa?

Author's POV

The next three days were busy for the Jung's and Min's, preparing for the twins' seventh birthday. Taehyung, distancing himself to avoid conflict, bought gifts for the twins, wanting to give them a memorable present as their father.

The twins woke up early on their birthday, brimming with excitement.

"Hey, hyung, I feel strange today. Do you think something will happen? I'm scared." Taeyang said to Taegguk, who was making his bed. (Taegguk is twelve minutes older than Taeyang.)

"What do you mean?" Taegguk asked.

"I'm just thinking about the fight at Daddy's company party. I hope something good happens instead." Taeyang said, looking down at her lap.

"Look at me, Yangie. Don't think something bad will happen, okay? Remember what Daddy and Mommy said, seven is a lucky number. We might get a surprise today, something that will make us happy, so don't think of bad things, okay?" Taegguk reassured his sister.

"You're right, Daddy and Mommy told us to always think positive. I'm sorry, hyung. I just feel different today." Taeyang said, smiling.

"Don't worry, hyung will always be here to protect you, okay?"

"Okay!"

"Good morning, my precious babies!" Jungkook said, entering their room.

"Good morning, too, Mommy!" the twins replied.

"Are my babies excited for today?" he asked.

"Yeah! Are Uncle Jinnie and Uncle Joonie coming?" Taeyang asked, sitting on Jungkook's lap.

"Yes, baby. Daddy and Uncle Jin are waiting for Uncle Joon at the airport. So, while Daddy's there, let's get you both ready, okay?" Jungkook said, and the twins giggled as he carried them to the bathroom.

They loved bath time with Jungkook; they could play with bubbles and choose their bath bombs.

Jungkook's POV

After bathing the kids, I chose their outfits and went to my other sleeping babies, who were holding hands. They looked so cute that I took a picture before preparing their clothes.

I made waffles and peanut butter and blueberry sandwiches for breakfast and poured milk into their glasses. While they ate, I tied Taeyang's hair into a cute ponytail with a ribbon.

I was making more waffles for my husband and the hyungs when the doorbell rang.

I rushed to the door and hugged Hobi, who had already opened his arms for me.

"Welcome back, Seokie!" I said, tiptoeing to kiss his cheek. I went back to hugging him but was interrupted by a cough.

"Sorry to interrupt your lovey-dovey moment, but are you going to let us in or what?" Jin-hyung said, standing at the doorway.

"Sorry, Jin-hyung, Joon-hyung. Come inside; Taeyang and Taegguk are waiting for you."

Author's POV

As soon as Jin and Namjoon entered, they were engulfed in hugs from Taeyang and Taegguk.

The four adults cooed at the children. "Happy Birthday to my cute babies." Jin said, carrying Taeyang, while Taegguk sat on Namjoon's lap.

"Uncle Joonie, let's play hide-and-seek!!!" the twins exclaimed.

"Ah ah ah, let Uncle Jin and Uncle Joonie eat first, then you can play. Have you finished your breakfast?" Jungkook asked, being hugged by Hoseok.

"Yes, Mommy!!!" The twins retrieved their coloring books and returned to the living room.

The four adults sat in the dining room, catching up.

"So, you're saying Taeyang and Taegguk's father is in Korea, he has a fiancée, wants to meet his kids, and you're allowing that?" Jin asked, ready to explode.

"We've talked about this before, hyung. When Taeyang and Taegguk were born, we decided to tell them the truth when the time comes." Hoseok said, caressing Jungkook's waist.

"Did Yoongi accept it?" Namjoon asked, calming Jin.

"Kind of, but he threatened Taehyung and said he'd kill him if he hurt them. I know you're having a hard time accepting this, but I want them to know their father. We can't keep this secret forever. Please, hyung, don't say anything to Taeyang and Taegguk; we want to be the ones to tell them." Jungkook said, holding Jin's hand.

".... Of course, you're right. You eventually have to tell them, but I'm worried about how they'll feel finding out Hoseok isn't their real father." Namjoon said, looking at the children's coloring.

"I'll make sure they know I love them, even if they're not mine, they're my children, no matter what." Hoseok said, smiling at Kim's.

Jin and Namjoon agreed, they knew secrets couldn't be hidden forever.

Four hours later, the Mins arrived, followed by Taehyung and Irene. The twins were confused to see the man from their daddy's company who'd fought with Uncle Yoonie.

At lunchtime, they brought out the cake and sang "Happy Birthday." Then, they gave the twins their gifts.

The Namjin gave books (about animals and fashion), the Yoonmin gave toys, and Irene gave coloring books. When it was Taehyung's turn, the Yoonmin and Namjin went to the dining room to give them privacy. Yoongi, though reluctant, was dragged away by Jimin.

"I hope you'll like it." Taehyung said gently to the twins. They looked at Jungkook for permission.

"Of course, baby, you can take it. Don't worry, he's a good guy." Jungkook chuckled.

The twins opened the present, two beautiful rings engraved with "Twin One, Twin Two" and their names.

"Wow! This is beautiful, thank you so much, Ahjussi!!!" Taeyang and Taegguk said, hugging Taehyung.

Taehyung, overcome with emotion, hugged them back, tears streaming down his face.

"Ahjussi, why are you crying?" Taegguk asked. Taehyung shook his head and smiled, caressing their faces.

Jungkook and Hoseok exchanged glances, it was time.

"Taeyang, Taegguk, come here. I have to tell you something important." Jungkook said. The twins came to the couch.

"Baby, look who this gift is from?" Jungkook asked, pointing to the rings.

"Huh? It's from… Appa?" Taegguk said, confused.

"Daddy, is this from you?" Taeyang asked Hoseok, who shook his head and points at Taehyung.

"It's from him. He… he's your Appa."
