Author's POV
As soon as they entered the lounge, Yoongi lost control and punched Taehyung.
"Hyung! Stop it!" Jungkook shouted, clinging to Yoongi's arm to prevent further harm to Taehyung.
"Let go of me, Jungkook! This guy deserves a beating after what he's done!!! Does he even know you almost died with your kids?!?" Yoongi yelled, glaring at Jungkook.
Jungkook lowered his head, tears welling up at the memory.
"Hoseok, get the children to your room " Jimin instructed, as Jiwon and Junseok cried from the commotion, and Taeyang and Taegguk watched with wide, tearful eyes.
"I'll come with you." Irene offered, helping Hoseok take the children.
Once they were gone, Yoongi was about to strike again, but Jungkook hugged him from the front, and Jimin went to Taehyung's side.
"Hyung, stop!!! Nothing will be solved by fighting!!!" Jungkook pleaded, looking at Yoongi.
Seeing Jungkook's tears, Yoongi's anger vanished, he wiped away his tears.
"No, no, no, don't cry, Kookie. I'll stop, okay? I'll stop, so please don't cry." he said, caressing Jungkook's face. Jungkook buried his face in Yoongi's chest and hugged him tightly.
Jimin guided Taehyung to the couch and got a medical kit.
Hoseok and Irene returned to see Yoongi holding Jungkook protectively, while Jimin treated Taehyung's face. Irene joined Jimin, and Hoseok comforted Jungkook.
A few minutes later~~
"So? What kind of bullshit explanation do you have???" Yoongi asked Taehyung, who was holding an ice pack to his cheek.
Jimin lightly slapped Yoongi's arm to silence him.
"I-I didn't mean to leave him." Taehyung stammered, tears welling up.
"I… I didn't know he was pregnant. I didn't even want to cancel our wedding. I only found out about the children and everything when you called. My father forced me to come home, I went to France to confront him but he immediately confiscated all my things and put under surveillance. I really planned to go back after I talked to my father, but I wasn't able to. I tried to find him, even though you said I shouldn't, but the thought of how stupid I was to leave my family was consuming me. I searched everywhere, even in other states, until I found out you moved to L.A. That's all I know, I swear. After that, I tried finding you in L.A., but I had no luck. I-I just really wanted to apologize and maybe be a family again, but then I saw Jungkook with Hoseok at the dinner; that's when I found out they were married. At that moment, I knew I'd never have another chance to be part of my family."
Taehyung looked directly at Yoongi to emphasize his honesty.
"Then why did you keep bothering Jungkook? Someone told me you kept bothering him while he was pregnant!" Yoongi asked, furrowing his brows.
"I… I wanted to talk to him and apologize. That's all. I wouldn't force him, but I wanted to at least see my children—I mean, his children. I just wanted to be forgiven." Taehyung said, lowering his head in shame.
"Do you really think—" Yoongi was interrupted by Jungkook, whose words made Yoongi's eyes widen.
"You're already forgiven, Taehyung." Jungkook said. Taehyung looked up at him with teary eyes.
"W-what?" Taehyung couldn't believe it; he'd done something horrible and felt he needed to prove himself worthy of forgiveness.
"Why are you forgiving him so easily, Jungkook?! Did you forget what he did and the consequences?!" Yoongi stood up, looking at Jungkook in disbelief.
"Hyung, I didn't forget, but I don't want to keep hating someone, especially someone close to me. Everyone deserves forgiveness and a second chance, I also already heard his explanation. I know it was partly his fault that I almost died with our kids, but it was also partly my fault because I succumbed to my pain without thinking about my children. Hyung, I know you were enraged, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't forgive him; he's human, and humans make mistakes. We can't know what's ahead, but we should savor our happiness and live the life we want. Hyung, please forgive him." Jungkook said, causing Yoongi to reflect.
Yoongi knew how to forgive, but it was difficult, especially when it involved his brother. He'd beat the hell out of anyone who hurt his brother, but he wouldn't tolerate it.
"Taehyung, look at me." Jungkook said, standing before him. Taehyung lifted his head to meet Jungkook's smiling gaze.
"I forgave you a long time ago, but that doesn't mean I forgot what you did. It's easy to forgive but hard to forget. I was just waiting for you to apologize because I won't tolerate anyone who doesn't admit their mistakes." Jungkook said, causing Taehyung's tears to finally fall.
Jungkook looked at Hoseok for permission to hug Taehyung; Hoseok nodded, happy with Jungkook's decision. Jungkook also sought Irene's permission, which she granted.
Jungkook hugged Taehyung and rubbed his back. After a moment, Taehyung calmed down.
After the hug, Hoseok hugged Jungkook and kissed his head.
"You can see the kids if you want, I won't stop you, they're your kids, too. Besides, Hoseok and I talked, Taeyang and Taegguk have the right to know their real father. Do you want to? Of course, if it's alright with Irene." Jungkook said, and Taehyung immediately agreed.
"I want to, so badly. I promise I won't do anything to hurt them." Taehyung said, happiness shining in his eyes.
"I'm completely fine with it, Kookie. They deserve to have a bond with their father." Irene said, smiling.
"If you hurt them, even a little bit, I won't hesitate to kill you." Yoongi threatened, sending chills down Taehyung's spine.
Yoongi and Jimin went to the door.
"Don't think I forgive you yet. It's not that easy." Yoongi said before leaving.
"Goodbye, Taehyung. I wish you luck." Jimin added before following Yoongi.
"So, we'll introduce you to Taeyang and Taegguk at their birthday in four days. Don't worry, it's just family." Hoseok explained.
They went to their rooms to rest after the emotional encounter.
