"Excuse me?" The Rogue King almost couldn't believe his ears.
Almost.
Throughout the centuries, his Dukes have proven difficult in more ways than one. But this?
"I know how it sounds, my Lord." Onika kept a straight face, her holographic image not flickering for even a second. "But at this point, it seems—"
"Like a futile mission." Kyren cut her short. "Because that's exactly what it is." He paused, scanning his eyes through all their faces.
They seemed puzzled. Like they'd expected an entirely different reaction from him.
Well, too bad.
"Listen to yourselves speak." He went on, placing his hands firmly on his desk. Lucian sat there silently, looking between him and the crimson holograms. "You want us to hand over a crystal of Divine origins to our enemies? The same ones who've recently made it their mission to exterminate us Rogues?"
