Chapter 17 - Serpents Don’t Love

Dungeons – Abandoned Alchemy Chamber – Minutes After the Kiss

The air between Lillian and Severus was charged with magic—raw, ancient, barely restrained.

Hands still tangled in torn robes. Breath ragged.Their kiss hadn't been innocent. It had been a claim.

And then—

Lucius Malfoy entered.

The room's temperature dropped ten degrees.

"Touching," he said, voice like iced silk, stepping closer with the poise of a pureblood ghost. "Truly. Almost romantic."

Severus froze.Lillian turned, one hand twitching toward his wand.

Lucius merely smiled.

"You really thought you were the one playing the game, Severus?"

He stepped into the candlelight, silver hair shining like a drawn blade. The tip of his cane clicked against the stone floor. Every step deliberate.

"But you were never the player.""You were always my pawn."

Flashback – Severus's 5th Year – Memory Recovered (via spell Lucius triggers)

The spell hit like a whip of cold water.

Severus gasped as memories ripped free from where Lucius had hidden them—buried with whispered charms, sweet poison, and soft lies.

A stolen kiss in the library.Lucius's hand trailing down his spine in the Slytherin showers.Promises like poison: "He'll never want you. I'm all you have."

He sees it now.

Lucius never loved him.

Lucius needed control.Lucius fed off Severus's loneliness.Lucius whispered that being Beta meant weakness—unless bound to a powerful Alpha like him.

 Present – Dungeons

Severus stumbled back, hand clutching his head.

"You used me," he said, voice strangled.

Lucius tilted his head.

"I molded you."

And then—he turned to Lillian.

"You think he's noble? You think he's yours?""Ask him how many times he came running to me when the rest of Hogwarts spat on him.""Ask him how many nights he begged to be wanted."

"Shut up," Severus whispered.

Lucius's smile widened.

"He was never strong enough to love you, little Omega. He only knew how to obey."

That broke something.

Lillian's eyes glinted with fury.

And Severus?

He raised his wand.

"Legilimens."

Lucius's Mind – Moments of Cruelty

A shattered mirror.A bruised neck.Lucius whispering hexes between kisses.Laughing as Severus cried in a locked dormitory.

Severus screamed—and the spell snapped.

Lucius stumbled back, his own memories echoing in the room.

But it was Lillian who moved.

Fast.

Deadly.

"You made him believe he was unlovable."

Lucius raised his wand.

"He was."

And Lillian, trembling with grief and rage, whispered the curse that no Omega should ever know—

"Ferox vinculum."

Lucius slammed into the wall, pinned by invisible bonds of ancient Alpha-breaking magic.

Blood ran from his nose. His cane clattered to the floor.

"You want power, Malfoy?" Lillian hissed."Then drown in it."

Later – Severus's Quarters – Near Midnight

Silence.Rain on the windows.Fire crackling low in the hearth.

Lillian sat on the edge of Severus's bed, fingers tracing the marks on his wrist. Old. Pale. Forgotten.

Severus stood in the corner, arms wrapped around himself like armor.

"I let him break me."

Lillian shook his head. "No. He tried. But you're still here."

Their eyes met.

Something old and sacred passed between them.

"Do you still want me?" Severus whispered.

Lillian's voice was quiet.

"I never stopped."

He stood, stepping closer.

Their foreheads touched.

Breaths mingled.

Hands found hands.

And just as their lips brushed—

CRACK.

A parchment letter burst into the room via Ministry owl fire.

Dumbledore's seal. Urgent. Marked with dark magic.

Severus opened it.

"Snape. Trial. Forbidden use of unregistered Omega-binding spells. You are to be taken to the Ministry. Immediately."

And just like that—

Everything shattered again.
