~~~ [START]
A helicopter hovered in the wind, moving above many rows of trees, which were later replaced by an endless ocean.
"You ready?" Vlad's voice was a whisper.
"No!" Alice's hands tightened around his arm, with the ocean below them folding unevenly in all directions.
And although the towering mountains restricted most of its blows, the plane still shook.
"This is as high as I can go!" the pilot turned. "You guys should… wait, where the fuck is your parachute?"
Vlad leaped out, the wind immediately pushing against his skin. Alice looked back, waved while blowing a kiss, then jumped out after him.
Then, right before he could start pressing buttons, the pilot's eyes changed crimson red, his hands turning the control stick, rotating the chopper, then shifting it around.
"Are you okay?!" Vlad's voice pierced through the air, his words being blown back by the wind, with Alice falling faster right above him.
"No!" Alice's figure dropped past him like a bullet. Friction turned her body back and forth as it descended.
"Calm down." His arms and legs folded straight, one hand unnaturally stretching out like rubber, and in seconds, expelling inches close from reach.
Alice's body jolted backward from his touch, and when his hand pulled her closer, her bra saved her shirt from ripping, because Vlad's fingers tightened around its straps, locking into them like an anchor.
"Don't forget to hold on!" he said, and she giggled.
Vlad just shook his head, then, with enough strength, pulled, sending her flying behind him, only for her figure to drop seconds later.
Her body slammed against his back, head slumping onto his hair, with her arms and legs locking themselves between his.
And their figures soared through the clouds like a rock, falling as the angry, tedious ocean pulled closer.
Then lightning struck above them, revealing an army of sharks below its white.
The majesty of its approach reaped all memory, or any feeling for repercussion.
Whether they knew it or not, a war was soon to come.
{ELSEWHERE}
Edward entered the house, immediately making his way to the living room.
"What's happening?" His feet halted, eyes landing on Carlisle, who was covering an arm around Esme, sitting on the couch.
Esme nearly stood, but Carlisle put his hand on her lap, shook his head, then narrowed his eyes back toward Edward.
"Where is everyone—"
"Did you tell her?"
Edward stumbled back, brows frowning as they turned to Esme, whose body was slumping deeper.
"No… I'm not turning her!" His hands clenched.
"Edward, she knows about us." Carlisle stood up, walked to Edward, then placed a hand atop his shoulder. "Sooner or later—"
"No, that would break the treaty."
"Not if it's a choice."
He shrugged Carlisle's hand off, then turned and started walking away.
"Edward."
"What?!"
Carlisle's eyes narrowed. "The female shifter was here; she was looking for Alice."
Edward's pace halted. "What?"
"Alice is with Vlad," Carlisle said. "So she doesn't know, and I doubt she has insight, since she can't see them in her visions."
"Where are they?"
"She left a letter." Esme stepped forward, handing him a folded white slip. "It says the Pacific."
{ELSEWHERE}
The door blasted open.
"She took him." Leah's eyes turned to daggers at Billy, who was seated in his wheelchair in front of the TV.
"Leah, what—"
"And it's all because of you!"
Lightning struck, its light brightening the room, revealing tears continually falling from her eyes.
"He would have listened… only if," her words stumbled, "if only you arranged the meeting."
"What are you talking about—"
"Ahhh!" She ran out, thunder striking after her leave, with growls following behind it.
Then silence remained, with droplets of rain beginning their descent.
"Jacob!" Billy's voice shouted, his hands tightening on the sides of his seat.
—----
{ELSEWHERE}
"She was demanding to see her." Carlisle's fingers interlocked, his body seated in a crouched posture. "Jasper nearly killed—"
"The others took him hunting." Esme appeared from the kitchen, holding two large silver cups, handing one of them to Carlisle, then taking a seat and scooting close enough for their clothes to touch.
"What did she want from her?"
"She was angry, Jacob." Carlisle swallowed it, the blood within spinning into a thick suction pool. "Jasper thought she was here to fight… she most definitely was, so Rosalie forced her to leave before I could fully question her."
"What about Vlad? Why aren't you calling him?"
Carlisle paused, then, a second later, started chuckling at the question, with Esme nudging him by the shoulder from his side.
"Dear," Esme straightened herself, one leg crossing over another, "how's Bella?"
