"So, what do you think?"
"About what?"
Bella was paying little to no attention because her eyes were fully locked on Edward, who was also exchanging glances while occasionally frowning at Mike, the boy she was standing with.
"Prom; do you wanna go… with me?"
He couldn't hold back his blushes, his heart nearly racing and stuttering from her presence alone.
"Oh, um… I."
"She can't, because she is going with me." Vlad stepped in, swinging his arm around Bella while winking and kissing the air toward Mike.
"What? No, I'm not." She broke his act, bending and removing the arm he had flung around her, while glaring at Edward, fearing with all her life that he would misunderstand.
"I tried to save you." Ash shook his head with a whisper, noting the smile that returned on Mike's lips after she denied his claim.
"So?" Mike pressed. "You wanna go with...?"
Vlad suddenly felt a force yanking him backward. And as he turned, surprise flashed through his eyes, lips nearly turning to a grin as he looked downward, seeing who it was.
"How did you do it?" She smiled, still pulling him away.
"Huh?" He faked confusion, lifting his hand to his skull and scratching it, but his grin was unmistakable.
So, she shook her head, turning while holding him tightly by the hand, fingers interlocked between his own.
"They are dating?" Eric emerged from nowhere, his glasses nearly falling. "They are actually dating."
And Bella, the girl who had rejected him 20 seconds ago, wished she could talk to him for a minute more, not for anything romantic, but maybe for a hidden hint about the knowledge he potentially knew.

"Vlad," Edythe spoke first, hands raised behind her back and unintentionally smiling too much for the norm.
'She told her, didn't she?' Vlad thought inwardly to himself, nodding at her, then exchanging a firm handshake with Jasper, who couldn't stop twitching.
"Where is the big guy?" Vlad looked around, noting no signs of Emmet or Rosalie in sight.
"They don't do Bio." Edythe kept shaking her head, occasionally turning to Edward, whose gaze was becoming too fixed for her liking. "So, they skipped school. They probably went out hunting." She hesitated. "...you have to join us one day; it's really fun."
Vlad just pulled out a line of sour strip candy from his pocket, bit into it, and complemented his decision.
"Na," he shook his head, returning the strip of candy back within his pockets, "I'll only drink blood when I need to."
Edward, who was fully fixated on Bella, smiled at his words.
"Yo, yo, yo, hey guys, please come!" Mr. Moline shouted from the front, opening the doors to the buses. "We've gotta go. Green is what? Good, green is good, so let's go."
Alice didn't even give Vlad time to process what was happening; she just pulled him seductively by his arms, slowly walking backward, leading him inside.
Maybe that's when everything started, because in the eyes of the uninformed, Alice and Vlad were now officially a couple.

{HOURS LATER}
"Eggshells, carrot tops, compost is cool," Mr. Moline rushed to the side. "Yes, Eric, slam it in there, make sure it feels you."
"Yo, pause!" Eric laughed at the dirt behind Mr. Moline's words.
"Pause?... no, don't pause, Eric, don't pause. Look." Mr. Moline grabbed a cup from the counter, moved it under one of the tap holes on the barrel Eric was pounding. "You see that?"
Eric nearly laughed as Mr. Moline lifted the cup up.
"This is nature's tea," he handed the cup to Tyler, "full, fresh, and filled with white sticky substances."
"Yo!" The class laughed at Eric's voice, clearly getting a hint at what each of his laughs truly meant.
"So, you put me under hypnosis?" Alice's hand tightened around Vlad, unintentionally making him rethink hesitating to pull back.
"Not really, it's basically compulsion," he corrected. "And don't you think you are kinda… holding me too tight, I'm joking." He lied when the tightening grew; it seemed she was toying with him.
But then, Vlad's eyes passed Bella, yet they didn't even glance for long.
Vlad was a man of simple tastes. If a brother allowed his sister to hang her hand around him, then he would allow that same brother to do whatever he pleased with his best friend, even knowing what that said brother truly was.
Because in all honest truth, who was he to think he was better?

{MINUTES LATER}
"Hi… um, are you riding with us?" Alice turned to Bella, who was standing beside Edward near the door of their bus.
"No," Edward shot in an instant, "our bus is full."
Then he stomped inside, leaving Alice to stare at Bella with a nervous smile.
Alice then glanced back, looking at Vlad, who was far behind, still approaching. She hesitated, truly stuck between a rock and a hard place, then finally, she made a decision, entering as the bus doors closed behind her.
"Why are you standing in the cold with a sad face, woman?" Vlad's voice broke Bella out of her thoughts. "What happened to the doors?"
"The bus is full." She put her hands in the pockets of her jacket, eyes turning to the other bus.
Ash turned to the one on his side, looking up at a closed window above him, witnessing as Alice blew him a kiss.
"Well," he turned to Bella, hanging his arm around her, which for her was kind of annoying, but she couldn't help but admit that it brought a certain warmth, "it's time to cuddle."
He made his voice high-pitched, trying with all his vocal cords to mimic the sound of the infamous WrestleMania commentator.
