Chapter 3 - An Immortàl

It did not take long and Han Daon's vision returned.

Adapting to the law of the void hadn't been difficult however, people made a big deal out of it.

Now that he has ascended to the void realm, there's no need keeping that man trapped within the sealing barrier.

Immediately, the sealing barrier çrumbled creating a terrifying gust of wind.

The man pierced a chilling gaze at Han Daon then he lasted out with a strange will, slapping right at Han Daon and the impact sent him flying.

The man smiled darkly and spat.

"Did you really think that I'd simply watch you break through so that I would be defeated in the end? Nah."

Han Daon stared at the man unwillingly. He could faintly discern the divinity that embodied his person, meaning that most of his powers must have returned.

'Did I really spend a lot of time trying to adapt to the void?'

Han Daon picked up his double edged sword that had fallen off his grip, his hands tightening around the hilt.

The void around him seemed to sense Han Daon's intention and they parted.

Han Daon's strike carried intense powér but this weird man used a simple rod to counter Han Daon's strike and his hands turned numb.

"I am a peak Supreme realm expert, but I was reduced so pitifully to just an ordinary Void Realm. However, after eliminating most of my techniques, my strength alone had reached the peak of the Aether realm. You're no match for me."

The man's rod spun in the air and he jumped from the sky, charging straight at Han Daon.

"I am the Valkyrie of night! The universe responds to the sound of my voice."

One strike, and Han Daon couldn't endure such brutal attack power.

The bone connecting his right shoulder immediately cracked.

In terms of overwhelming power, Han Daon knows that he did not stand a chance against this man, no matter how powerful he is in the Void Realm.

Those in the Void Realm were considered ordinary in front of an Aether realm expert so there is no way for Han Daon to defeat this man, instead he was looking to be defeated.

"What?" The man laughed at Han Daon's hesitating expression.

"You're nøw realizing the disparity between us? It would have been nice if you hadn't harbored any thoughts of killing me. It would have also been nice if you had allowed me to escape now, you'd die just like he did!"

Han Daon turned towards Lee Dong's dead body and then back at the man.

He wouldn't give up so easily… and then he swung his sword and dashed forward causing the man to laugh.

"Quite stubborn. Even with a broken arm."

His rod slammed down with power, instantly shooting Han Daon into the ground like a meteor. The ground cracked upon impact and Han Daon's spine cracked as well…

The pain spread dramatically and he hissed in complete agony.

Han Daon closed his eyes and opened them, he gritted his teeth and watched the man inch closer to him with that ridiculous smile on his face.

"Ah, he's one of the bad guys. He's a Supreme. How could I have brazenly thought I could beat him in a weakened state?"

Han Daon was starting to scold himself. As a Supreme, his power was already exaggerated and now— even with the weakening effect, he is still unstoppable. His brute strength is so inhuman that not even a Void Realm expert could endure one blow from him.

Han Daon took in a sharp breath.

He prepared to die.

He saw the man raise his rod, ready to strike down.

Maybe in the next life, he would learn not to be too overconfident… maybe he wouldn't be too brazen.

And most importantly, he wouldn't underestimate others or become cocky.

Han Daon watched silently and then the rod struck down—

However, he wasn't smashed like he was supposed to. Almost as if the battle is being interfered with by an even higher power.

'A Divine Realm expert?'

'Impossible! A Divine Realm is already hard to achieve—'

Han Daon froze seeing a lady staring down at him.

She noticed him staring back at him, shock and surprise etched on his face. She chuckled.

"I startled you right? I'm sorry!"

"Let me start by introducing myself… I am Gu Zhiyi, defender and protector of Heaven's sect. I am an immortàl being."

Han Daon suddenly gasped.

"Immortal being? Is there such a thing? I thought "The Divine Realm is immortàl?"

Gu Zhiyi laughed and whispered.

"The divine realm isn't the last and the Immortal realm isn't also the last. Cultivation continues on almost endlessly."

Han Daon did not understand.

"Does that mean we would keep cultivating until we die?"

"A cultivator doesn't die, unless killed during a battle or ambushed by another powerhouse. Anyways… the business for today."

Gu Zhiyi looked at the man who was frozen in place while striking down with his rod..

"You are about to die…"

Han Daon immediately cuts in.

"Please, I don't want to die. I've been wrecked already by him."

Gu Zhiyi smiled.

"The origin universe is already at the mercy of the Eternals. They now rule as the prime head over this parallel universe and this universe needs someone to rise and liberate it from the clutches of the Eternals."

She smiled.

"Looking for a perfect fit, we saw you on your deathbed and decided— you are the chosen one."

Han Daon's eyes widened.

"How does that help me?"

Gu Zhiyi stared deeply at Han Daon.

"It does! I'll give you a test." She smiled darkly.

"Kill him."

Han Daon's face paled.

"You clearly saw that I was no match for him and you still want me to kill him?"

"This is a test to prove that you are worth being chosen as the perfect candidate. Put your brains into good use, I believe you'd destroy him without knowing that you've done it. Focus on yourself— you have potentials sealed within you that only you yourself can unlock."

Han Daon stared in shock.

He had heard her say so many things… chosen, perfect candidate, brains, destroy, potentials, sealed and unlock. But he did not understand why and how.

She turned towards the frozen man and back at Han Daon.

"Stop that man from ripping you to shreds. Stop that rod from smashing you into a puddle! I believe that you have what it takes."

And time suddenly resumed its flow, meaning that the Valkyrie ahead is about crushing him with his rod.

Han Daon's eyes grew cold and a gust of power wrapped around him like a mantle. Then, a terrifying power blasted the rod back, and actually shattered it to smithereens.

The man's eyes widened in horror.
