"He left already?" Azithra said, putting the tray filled with snacks and two cups of tea on the stone table.
The portal was gone.
The air where Lux had stood felt… normal again.
Eros didn't answer immediately.
He was still looking at the space where his cousin had disappeared, as if expecting the fabric of reality to twitch again and spit him back out with another dry comment and a worse problem.
"He is always in a hurry," Eros muttered finally.
Azithra sat down across from him, folding her legs gracefully beneath her dress. The porcelain clinked softly as she adjusted the cup closer to him.
"Time is money for him," Eros continued, voice low. "He rarely wastes time."
His fingers tapped once against the stone table, then stilled.
"The fact he came here and… lingered… already shocking enough."
Azithra watched him carefully.
There was no teasing in her eyes now.
No playful bride energy.
Just quiet understanding.
