Azithra hummed beside Eros. "You're kind of hot like this."
"Do not flirt with me right now," Lux said, not looking away from the data. "I'm elbow deep in corrupted s*x archives and trying not to gouge my own eyes out."
"I'm still half naked, you know."
"Thank you for the reminder. I'm now blind by choice."
The girls laughed.
Eros reached up and tugged Azithra closer, kissing her temple. "You know, for all his complaining, I bet deep down Lux loves being the smart one in the room."
"I can still hear you," Lux muttered.
"Good. I said it loud."
Lux scrolled through the final report, his hand still flying. His eyes scanned metrics most beings wouldn't even see, let alone understand.
At the very bottom, the screen pulsed faintly. One line glowed a little brighter than the others:

Lux stared at it.
Froze.
Then slowly traced the line with his finger. "Tethered…?"
