Chapter 2 - Chapter 2.

Lucifer sat in the slightly elevated balcony of one of his nightclubs, a domain where shadows danced and secrets thrived. Flanked by two alluring ladies, he flirted and reveled in the seductive energy of the night until a distraction pierced through the haze of laughter and music. His nostrils flared as a unique scent wafted, a scent he had been searching for, for a million years, a scent he lost hope searching for. But along with the scent came a wrenching pain in his heart, a pain that almost suffocated him.

He excused himself from the ladies, urgency surging through him as he ventured into the pulsing throng of the club, the scent guiding him like a beacon. Each step brought her closer, unveiling a truth he could scarcely comprehend. There, amidst the crowd, he found her, a young woman, Susan, crumpled in emotional agony, tears glistening on her cheeks. No wonder he felt a pain in his heart. It was a normal thing for demons to feel their mate's pain.

Shock and disbelief washed over him. "A human? My mate is a human?" He scoffed, flooding the air with a mixture of exhilaration and incredulity. "Hey, Elohim, you never cease to amaze me."

He approached her cautiously, drawn by an inexplicable force, the warmth of her sorrow contrasting with the chill of his existence. Clearing his throat, he gained her attention. "May I sit here?"

"Yeah, sure." Susan hastily wiped her tears, a brave smile forced upon her lips.

"Well, not so bad, Elohim; this woman is a beauty," Lucifer grinned silently as he settled beside her, feeling the weight of the moment.

Though she had initially sought to immerse herself in carefree abandon, thoughts of Ben's betrayal clawed at her spirit. Drowning herself in grief, she clutched a bottle of alcohol, allowing the liquid courage to fuel her confessions.

"Can I talk to you?" she implored, tears brimming in her expressive eyes. "It's about my personal stuff. My mom used to say, 'whenever you're down or in trouble, find someone to talk to. Don't bottle it all up.' And now, even in this moment, I'm grateful you're a stranger. I won't have to worry about embarrassment."

"What if we meet again?" he asked, his gaze piercing through the dim club light.

"We won't," she replied, a resolute edge in her voice, but an undercurrent of doubt rippled beneath her words.

"And how sure are you about that?" he pressed, leaning in slightly, the challenge woven into his tone. She hesitated, her silence speaking volumes.

"I'm listening," he urged, his voice both playful and persistent.

"Earlier this evening, I went to my boyfriend's house... the boyfriend I've had for seven years," she began, her heart heavy.

"Getting there, I came across something devastating," she continued, her voice barely above a whisper.

"He cheated on you," Lucifer interjected, his tone nonchalant yet laced with dark amusement.

"Yeah, and you know what his reason was? He said I'm too naive and he wants a wild girl... All men want a wild girl," she said, bitterness creeping into her voice.

"Are you a virgin?" he asked suddenly, his curiosity striking her as unexpected.

"No, I lost it to him," she replied, a touch of pride weaving through her admission.

"Give me his details; I'll take care of him for you," he said, a wild grin surfacing, and she chuckled lightly, the tension breaking for a moment.

"Okay, you got me," she laughed, though the thought sent shivers down her spine.

"I'm serious," he said, his gaze narrowing, an unsettling seriousness creeping into his demeanor.

"How can you even kill someone? You look so innocent," she challenged, raising an eyebrow, yet she could feel his intensity, the darkness lingering at the edges.

"Just like you said, I'm a stranger. You have no idea what I'm capable of," he replied, his voice almost a growl, and she shivered despite herself.

"Still, are you really going to kill someone just because he cheated? It's a truly annoying and heartbreaking offense, but it's not enough to take a life," she said firmly, her heart racing at the thought.

"Well, I would. Hell, I'd relish in overseeing that person's torment myself," he said, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth.

"You really have a good sense of humor," she laughed.

"Glad I could put a smile on this beautiful face before me." His gaze lingered on her, intense and searching, igniting warmth in her cheeks as she looked away, flustered.

"So what's next for you?" he asked, the curiosity in his voice drawing her attention back.

"Now, I'm set to prove him wrong. I can be as wild as anything," she declared, her heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and apprehension.

"Are you sure you want to do that?" he raised an eyebrow, a hint of skepticism lacing his tone.

"Yeah. I don't mind getting lost in the Devil himself," she replied, a sly smile creeping onto her lips.

"Well, you're in luck; you already met him, and he's right before you." He smirked, a glimmer of mischief dancing in his eyes.

"You're so funny," she laughed again, though there was a lightness to it now, a challenge woven into her mirth.

"I'm serious," he insisted, but the playful gleam in her eyes was impossible to miss.

"But still, are you really sure about what you're about to do?" The question slipped out, laden with concern. "Because one look at you, and anyone can tell you're a goody two shoes."

He was right; she had always played it safe. But not tonight. Not anymore.

"Why don't I change that perception by starting with you first?" She leaned in, surprising him as she crashed her lips onto his with a fervor that electrified the atmosphere around them.

Lucifer wasted no time, his instincts kicking in as he pulled her closer, and she eagerly climbed onto his lap, sealing their connection. A long, heated kiss melted the world around them, leaving only the thrum of desire echoing in their ears.

Finally, she pulled away, her breath coming in quick succession as she searched his eyes, now hazy with longing. "I want you," she pronounced, the words hanging heavy in the air and sending a rush of heat through him.

Lucifer's breath hitched at her bold declaration, the heat radiating from her body igniting something deep within him.

"You have no idea what you're asking for," he warned, his voice low and gravelly, laced with a mix of desire and caution. A part of him reveled in the danger, the thrill of seduction unfolding in the dimly-lit corners of the club. But another part, one that had long been buried, urged him to tread carefully; he was no ordinary man. He was Lucifer, the Fallen, a being woven from darkness and chaos. Leading her down this path could unravel her entirely.

"I know exactly what I want," she declared, her tone unwavering and laced with conviction. "I've spent too long hiding in a shell. Tonight, I want to feel something different. I want to feel alive."

Her passion radiated from her, weaving its way into the very air around them, and he felt the intoxicating pull of her magnetism as she leaned in closer, their foreheads almost touching. "And what if this awakening leaves you with scars you can't bear?" His words were soft, almost a whisper, as he sought to temper the fire igniting between them.

She smiled up at him, a defiant spark igniting the depths of her gaze. "Then I'll own it. I've been naive for too long. It's time to embrace the wild side."

Without waiting for a response, she pressed her lips to his once more, the kiss deepening in urgency. He responded instinctively, desire roaring to life and melding into a consuming need as he tugged her closer. The cacophony of the club faded, the pulsing bass of the music and the laughter of the revelers dissolving into a dreamlike haze. All that remained was the heat between them and the chaotic electricity of the moment.

Lucifer's hands found her waist, steadying her as she straddled him, her body moving against his with an eagerness that shattered his carefully constructed defenses. He could sense the strength of her resolve and the vulnerability that lay just beneath the surface; it thrilled him.

"You're not afraid," he murmured against her lips.

"Not anymore," she whispered, a confident smile teasing her lips as she leaned closer, feeling the warmth of his breath brush against her skin. The night felt alive, electric, as if it understood the desire hanging in the air.

"Then let's make this night one you won't forget," he smirked, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
