Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

The next day.

Jon opened his eyes, feeling dizzy. Bright sunlight streamed in from the window, indicating it was already noon.

Living for 14 years in this life, it was his first time experiencing a hangover.

He rubbed his temples, a smile escaping him as he recalled the chaotic scene of last night's banquet.

What was going on?

He, a quiet and handsome young man, actually enjoyed a boisterous banquet.

And he wasn't even an adult yet. If he had really gotten sick from drinking, wouldn't Limby be afraid of being torn to shreds by Belle-mère?

Scratching his messy bed hair, Jon's movement to get out of bed suddenly froze.

The room was clean and tidy, even boasting an en-suite bathroom. It was a completely different concept from the multi-person cabin where he had placed his luggage yesterday.

Well, well, they upgraded me.

He glanced at the photo of Limby's family placed on the bedside table. It was clearly the captain's room.

He pulled a bottle of sparkling orange juice from the fridge. The cap popped open with a hiss of gas.

The refreshing sweetness of the orange juice flowing down his throat made him involuntarily exclaim, "Wuhu!"

"Yo, little brother Jon, good afternoon."

Just then, a crew member opened the door, carrying food: "You should still eat something after a hangover, otherwise your stomach will hurt."

"Thank you for the trouble," Jon said with a smile as he took the food. "Have you eaten? Want to join me?"

"No, no, I can't disturb your rest. I'll be outside. Just call me if you need anything."

After the other person closed the door, Jon plopped down onto the sofa. He ate his meal while opening his attribute panel.

A golden light curtain appeared before his eyes.

[Name: Joey Jon]

[Age: 14 years old]

[Strength: T 8-level]

[Attributes: Beast King (Purple · H-ability integrated), Conqueror's Haki (Gold · Not awakened), Two Hundred Times Effort (Gold), Sacrifice Harvest (Rainbow)]

[Overall Assessment: The leader of the small fries is still a small fry.]

The assessment was venomous, but its judgment of his strength was remarkably accurate.

Having obtained the Golden Finger for two years, Jon had long since figured out the strength ratings.

T 0 corresponds to God-level, like Im, Rocks, and Joyboy from 800 years ago.

T 1 corresponds to King-level, like Roger and Whitebeard.

Below that are T 2 Admiral/Emperor-level, T 3 Emperor Commander-level, T 4 Warlord-level, T 5 Supernova-level…

As for the T 8 level.

Hmm, there's no one to compare it to.

Very much like a Heroic Spirit.

But this didn't stop Jon from grinning foolishly.

It was like some people who haven't found treasure yet, but still get excited just looking at a treasure map. That kind of fantasizing about the future was simply exhilarating.

A moment later, he shifted his attention away from the attribute panel.

The most important thing now was to increase his strength.

Arlong's attack was only a few months away. He needed to use the [Two Hundred Times Effort] attribute to make his strength skyrocket!

His martial arts and swordsmanship hadn't been professionally taught, but it wasn't a problem to focus on both.

Of course, martial arts still had to come first. Weapons were, at most, icing on the cake.

"In my past life's memories, the official records introduced the Marine Six Powers. It's considered a secret technique in this world. Perhaps I can try it…"

Jon muttered to himself, silently recalling the training methods of the Six Powers.

Such a physical technique, trained by CP departments from a young age, was known by very few within the Marines, apart from the elites.

Being able to master the Six Powers was enough to walk sideways outside the Grand Line.

He had coveted this set of martial arts when he awakened his memories, but despite having the official introduction, his strenuous practice yielded no significant improvement. Now, there was finally some hope.

"Just thinking about it won't help. Let's try practicing first."

Jon recalled the details and decided to practice, but as soon as he stood up, his attention was drawn to a famous sword placed nearby.

Next to the famous sword was an unfolded note.

[Little brother Jon, this sword is called 'Muwang'. It is one of the 50 finest swords. A friend gifted it to me, and I didn't refuse, but it's clearly wasted on me. As a thank-you for saving my life, I'm giving this sword to you. Please accept it. —Limby.]

Ah, this…

He was overly grateful.

Jon picked up the long sword and examined it. It resembled a katana, about 1.4 meters long, and its aura was quite intimidating.

He remembered that the 50 finest swords were very rare. In the original timeline, Zoro obtained the Yukibashiri in Loguetown, Tashigi had the Hana-shou, and Billy had the Yamaoroshi.

Other than that, he didn't recall any other finest swords appearing.

"Muwang, huh? The name's not bad."

There was no need to be pretentious.

Although he didn't know swordsmanship now, he had the tool in hand, so he couldn't refuse.

"I'll take it."

Shing!

He drew the sword from its sheath.

The silver blade shimmered with an icy luster under the sunlight, and the slight tremor of the edge seemed to resonate with his heart.

He held it up to his eyes, examining it closely.

The blade, thin as a cicada's wing, had a gradient color, transitioning from indigo near the hilt to gray-silver, and then evolving into a nearly snow-white, vigorous hue all the way to the tip.

He held the sword horizontally across his chest, picked up a piece of paper with one hand, and then naturally let go. With a light touch, the paper effortlessly split in two.

The sword's sharpness far surpassed cutting paper like mud.

"What a good sword!" Jon exclaimed, his eyes full of admiration.

At 1.8 meters tall, using a 1.4-meter sword felt a bit awkward, like carrying Nami in his hand.

But it was stable, and the feel was good.

He sheathed the sword.

After securely fastening Muwang's sheath to his waist, Jon began to record the official descriptions of the Six Powers on paper.

After awakening his past life's memories, he found that all his memories of "One Piece" became increasingly familiar, to the point where he could recall them word for word.

In a sense—

This was also a cheat.
