Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: Odin's Reward

Marcus didn't feel much concern about Kaecilius. He was just another man enslaved by power, not worth his attention.

Sipping the tea from Kamar-Taj, Marcus said, "There's something I want to ask you."

Before he had shaped Wisp, his perception of various dimensions had become increasingly profound. He could clearly sense that Earth was surrounded by a massive magical circle. This circle didn't provide any visible protection, but beyond it, countless dimensions connected to our reality.

If he had broken the dimensional boundary then, this massive magical circle would have shattered instantly.

"What is it?" the Ancient One asked.

Though she possessed the Eye of Agamotto, she didn't use it constantly. Even as the Sorcerer Supreme, continuous use would drain her. Her role was to protect Earth from dimensional invasion, which meant maintaining her strength at full potential. Even if she could use the Eye continuously, she wouldn't.

"Although I come from the Void, I don't know much about other dimensions. Can you tell me about the differences between them?"

Seeing Marcus's interest, the Ancient One smiled and nodded.

"Except for your Void, which is relatively new, other dimensions have coveted Earth for a long time. The most prevalent dimension connected to Earth is Hell. This dimension has the closest connection to our world and is most likely to break through Kamar-Taj's defenses."

She continued, "There are many passages between Hell and Earth. Hell's creatures often cross through these passages to cause trouble in the human world. Even I have no perfect solution for this dimension."

For the Hell dimension so closely tied to Earth, all the Ancient One and the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj could do was block these passages as much as possible.

Fortunately, other dimensions weren't as closely connected to Earth as Hell, and Kamar-Taj's dimensional defense circle could resist them effectively. The Ancient One only needed to confront the masters of those dimensions and keep them away from Earth.

"As for other dimensions, the power of the Crimson Universe you acquired comes from one of the more powerful realms."

Mentioning the Crimson Universe, the Ancient One's expression became more serious. Although Kamar-Taj had spells to harness the power of the Crimson Universe, she remained vigilant about this powerful dimension.

"I know," Marcus said. "The master of the Crimson Universe isn't someone to mess with."

Marcus understood how strong the master of the Crimson Universe was. Even a tiny fraction of its power had enabled Juggernaut to stand against Atlas. Such immense power gave Marcus a clear understanding of the Crimson Universe's might.

"Each dimension has different approaches to other worlds," the Ancient One explained. "Most dimensions choose to devour different worlds to strengthen themselves. There are also some gentler dimensions that prefer trading to obtain power from other worlds. Though this method improves their strength more slowly, it's the most acceptable approach, and many worlds welcome the power of these dimensions..."

Through the Ancient One's explanation, Marcus gained new insight into different dimensions, making him realize how fortunate he'd been. If he had accidentally broken the dimensional boundary, he would have faced not only the Ancient One but also various dimensional gods with different powers.

Before, he had only known that Dimensional Gods were powerful, but now he had a better understanding of their strength. He might be the most unique being across all dimensions. According to the Ancient One, while his strength wasn't yet at the level of a Dimensional God, the Void he commanded was the most dangerous dimension she had ever encountered—surprising even to her, despite her extensive experience with different realms.

"Well, I think I understand now," Marcus nodded.

In the future, he would need to be careful when using Wisp's power, especially avoiding breaking dimensional boundaries.

"This is really troublesome..." he thought to himself, setting aside his dimensional inquiries for now.

Regardless of what those dimensions were, what he needed most was to improve his own strength. Without that, the power of dimensions would remain beyond his reach.

Seeing that Marcus had no more questions about dimensions, the Ancient One set down her teacup and led him to a passage at the back of the room.

This was her private sanctum. After they entered, the Ancient One made a slight gesture with her wrist, and the entire room began to twist and expand, bringing them into a mirror dimension.

The mirror space was filled with magical artifacts—Odin's rewards. Among these rewards, a ship particularly caught Marcus's eye.

"Ha! I knew this ship would look like this."

The vessel resembled a sailing ship, but with significant differences from normal vessels. It had two powerful wing-like structures on its sides. It seemed that once these wings were activated, the ship could fly.

"This is Asgard's unique swift ship. They are Viking, after all..." the Ancient One said with a hint of humor.

Asgard was a mythical realm revered by the Vikings, so such ships weren't unusual there.

Marcus wasn't disappointed. The ship from Odin was no simple vessel. Besides sailing on water, it could soar through the air and even space using its wings.

Though it looked relatively simple, it was indeed a ship capable of traversing the universe, with combat capabilities no worse than Howard's spacecraft.

Moving past the ship, Marcus examined other items. Many magical weapons lay on the ground, some emitting a faint glow.

"How do Asgard's weapons compare to your magical artifacts?" he asked.

This was what Marcus was most curious about. In his knowledge, among Asgard's weapons, only those wielded by Odin and Thor were truly exceptional. The rest seemed little different from ordinary weapons, perhaps just slightly stronger.

"Hmm... Kamar-Taj's magical artifacts may be somewhat stronger," the Ancient One answered.

After all, Asgard and Kamar-Taj operated under different circumstances.

Kamar-Taj had fewer sorcerers, so each magical artifact was crafted with meticulous care. When wielded to their full potential, these tools provided significant aid to the sorcerers.

Asgard, however, was a realm where everyone was a warrior. Their weapons couldn't be crafted with the same attention as magical artifacts. Except for Asgard's legendary items, most weapons and equipment were mass-produced.

At most, Asgardian weapons had better materials than those used by Kamar-Taj. Asgardians were much stronger than Earth's people, and ordinary materials couldn't meet their combat needs.
