Bellwether station was once a main facility for creating warships. Everyday the facility would churn out various ships of different models. It had once stood as a titanic factory a mobile forge-world almost the size of Earth's moon, a marvel of engineering dedicated solely to the production of warships. Day and night the facility creates vessels of every class and size
Designed not just to build, but also to mine and process materials , Bellwether could traverse asteroid fields and mining belts with precision. Massive drills and grav-beams harvested raw ore from nearby celestial bodies, feeding it straight into processing furnaces forges. mining, refining, assembling, launching.
At its peak, Bellwether was alive with motion.
Fleets of mining drones and shuttlecraft buzzed. The hangars echoed with footsteps, and shouted commands if the staff . Sparks lit up dim maintenance bays as engineers and technicians welded armor plating and calibrated ship cores. Giant arms rotated and assembled prefabricated hulls.
But now?
Now it was a tomb.
A drifting, decaying giant its massive body full of dents and rust The docks were shattered, assembly lines frozen. The once-bustling hangars were now jukyards of rusted equipment and crumpled ships. Pipes jut out from the walls, and no energy remains.
chitinous creatures insectoids infested the hollow halls. Their hives grew around the station . Egg sacs clung to support beams like tumors. The only sounds now were skittering limbs on metal and the low, guttural clicking of their legs inside.
For a decade, the station remained in silence until-
SSSSHHHHHRRRP! BOOOM!
Explosion suddenly enveloped a part of the station as yellow rockets hit them incinerating the insects hiding.
A few kilometers from the station a red menacing ship filled with ork doodles appeared. It's guns firing non-stop and rockets continuously bombarding.
'this shit awfully looks like a death star with rings' kael thought looking at the gigantic facility in from of him. 'it probably hides billions of insects inside of it'.
However it is nothing. The hardest part would be landing and the rest? Orks will take care.
Kael looked at the console Infront of him before he grabbed the mic and announced:
"Launch the landing pods and kill all insects in sight!"
A single command was all it toook for the orks to rush into a frenzy.
The mic barely ended before the deck erupted in chaos.
"WAAAGH!!!"
The war cry roared through the ship like a seismic charge. Green bodies surged forward, stepping over each other in a tide of madness and metal. Sirens blared, not from alarm but excitement. Red lights pulsed around the ship as orks began to move.
CLANG-CLANG-CLANG!
The launch bays opened, spilling light and steam into space.
Drop Pods, if they could be called that looked more like scrap-metal coffins with thrusters. Some still had teef painted on the front. Others aren't even metal but Stone with rockets attached.
Kael even saw some orks directly jumping to space shouting: "LEZ KRUMP ALL DEEZ BUGZ! LEEEEEROOOOY JENKIIIIINZ!!"
FWEEE-BOOM!
SHRACKOOM!
Rockets slammed into the station's outer hull, tearing open passages. Metal creaked and insects crawled around trying to remove the flames as fire blossomed into space.
One pod landed sideways slid across the plating then burst open.
"GIT STUCK IN, LADZ!"
Dozens of Orks poured out, axes raised, shootas blazing wildly into the dark. No formation, no tactics. just pure, unfiltered aggression.
Any bugs that tried to attack them instantly became chunks of flesh and high caliber bullets struck their shells. What could have been a space horror scenario was no different from a stroll to the orks.
WHOOSH-KA-THOOM!
More pods began to drop from the ship and more and more orks began to appear. Squigs tied with bombs were throwed by larger orks to the insects blasting large holes in the warm. Grots with their libs removed and attached to machineries operated killa kans, wierdboyz released blasts of green lightning pulverizing insects.
Looking at the hundreds of orks slowly cutting to swarms of insects Kael couldn't help but grin as he felt the WAAAAGHHHH field become stronger.
This was his life now.
A dead man reborn as a warboss, leading a band of green lunatics to war.
And it was glorious.
[AN: Are the fight scenes passable? I'm not really good at describing large scale fights.]
