Chapter 76 - Chapter 75: Pillow Problems and a Panic Morning

Aiden groaned as he slowly blinked awake, sun peeking through his half-drawn curtains. His bed felt unusually warm and heavy—and something was pinning down his chest.

He tried to sit up… and froze.

There was a body.

A whole body sprawled half on top of him. His eyes widened.

Sion.

His face buried against Aiden's shoulder, an arm casually slung across his waist like it belonged there. His breath was soft against Aiden's skin.

Aiden screamed.

"WHAT THE—!"

Sion jolted up so fast he hit his forehead against the headboard. "Ow—!"

Both of them scrambled to opposite ends of the bed, limbs tangled in blankets, hair tousled, and eyes wide.

Aiden, clutching the sheet to his chest like he'd been scandalized, yelled, "What were you doing?!"

"I—wait—what—" Sion rubbed his head, confused and barely awake. "Why are you yelling? I just woke up on a battlefield!"

"You were sleeping on me!" Aiden pointed an accusing finger.

Sion blinked. "Oh."

"Oh?! That's it?!"

"I can explain!" Sion sat up, raising his hands. "You didn't give me a pillow last night. And your couch is like a plank of wood. So I came to wake you around 3 a.m. but you wouldn't get up—"

Aiden's face burned red. "So you decided to—what—invade my bed?!"

"I tried to shake you, I swear! But you groaned like a dying cat and pulled the blanket over your head, so I—look—I just thought I'd sit for a moment, then I guess I passed out."

Aiden threw a pillow at him. "You passed out on me!"

"Technically," Sion caught the pillow mid-air, "I have a habit of sleeping on a pillow. I didn't find one, so I used… you."

There was a beat of silence.

Then Sion added nervously, "But don't worry. I'll provide full compensation."

"What kind of compensation?!" Aiden asked, still flustered.

"I'll buy you a pillow." Sion said solemnly.

Aiden blinked. "That's your grand solution?!"

"And breakfast," Sion added. "Maybe pancakes. For the trauma."

Despite himself, Aiden snorted and fell back on the bed with a groan, covering his face. "I can't believe you."

Sion leaned over slightly. "...So no police report, then?"

"I should file one," Aiden grumbled, eyes closed. "For 'extreme cuddling without consent'."

Sion grinned. "That's a valid charge. I'll take full responsibility."

"You better."

As the tension slowly dissolved, Aiden peeked out from under the blanket to see Sion still sitting there, watching him with that same faint smile.

"Next time," Aiden mumbled, "use the cat as your pillow."

"She bites."

"She's smart."

They both laughed.

Outside, the city buzzed to life, but in Aiden's bedroom, time seemed to pause—just long enough for two hearts to sync without even trying.
