315. Chapter 314: Soldier Boy Gains a Child in His Old Age

"A friend."

Soldier Boy didn't want to mention Xia Shang too much. Besides, even if he wanted to, he couldn't. He knew basically nothing about this stranger who had suddenly appeared beside him.

"Come in." Legend opened the main door, then led Soldier Boy towards the Room where Supe Suits were stored and collected.

Meanwhile, Xia Shang sat on the sofa in the Living Room, patiently waiting.

During this time, he noticed the many paintings hanging on the wall. Most of them were photos of film and television moguls from the last century, as well as some politicians. It was clear that the old man's status back then was very high, no less than Ashley Barrett, who currently served as Vought Vice President. Of course, none of this meant anything to Xia Shang, but the fact that the old man hung these on his wall clearly carried a hint of showing off.

"A former Vought Vice President. You can call me Legend. How should I address you?"

The old man walked out of the Room. When he saw Xia Shang's gaze fall upon the photos on the wall, he smiled and said, "I have to say, I got along great with them. After every gathering, I could barely make it home without holding my back."

"Bill." Xia Shang casually made up a name.

"Want something to drink?"

"Anything."

"Let's have some whiskey then. I don't have much else here, but I have plenty of alcohol." Legend took out two glasses and poured two glasses of whiskey.

"Want some of this?"

He bent down and picked out two fine cigars from the cigar cabinet under the coffee table, placing them on the table. "When you get old, you should enjoy yourself. By the way, how did you meet Soldier Boy?"

"Met by chance, not very familiar." Xia Shang picked up the whiskey on the table and took a sip. It was clear that the other party was trying to probe him, wanting to get information about Soldier Boy from his mouth.

"Hahaha, honestly, I thought Soldier Boy was long dead. I never expected to see him again in my lifetime." Legend laughed while cursing inwardly. 'Damn, his mouth is really tight. Not familiar with Soldier Boy? Only a demon would believe that. I don't have Alzheimer's.'

"The moment I opened the main door, I honestly thought I saw a ghost. Aside from his messy beard and hair, his appearance was exactly the same as back then, as if he hadn't aged at all."

Legend picked up the cigar cutter on the table, and as he spoke, he snipped off a small piece from the tip of the cigar. After lighting it with a special lighter, he took a deep puff.

"I really envy that kind of ability. If I could stay between fifty and sixty years old, maybe you'd only find me in a nightclub. Of course, you'd have to give me a heads-up, or I wouldn't have time to put on my clothes." Legend showed a lewd smile. "Too bad I didn't have the guts to get that injection back then, so now I can only stay here and write these damn memoirs."

"Your leg?"

Xia Shang looked at Legend's left leg. He had noticed earlier that the other party's walking posture wasn't quite right. Using X-ray Vision, he saw that the other party's left leg was fitted with a metal prosthetic limb.

"An accident allowed that bitch Madelyn Stillwell to take over. Even though she's dead, I still have to call her a bitch. When I was in charge, heroes were heroes, whatever their true nature was. Look at them now, Superheroes have become dolls posturing in front of cameras. I've never even seen Homelander curse. It's truly outrageous."

While the two were talking, Soldier Boy, fully armed and wearing his Suit, walked up to the mirror in the Living Room.

Looking at himself in the mirror, he seemed to see himself forty years ago, surrounded by adoration and revered by thousands. "Oh, you still have the same presence in that Suit as you did back then. If you went back to Vought now, Homelander probably wouldn't be able to sleep." Legend said admiringly, cigar between his fingers, as he left the sofa and walked over to Soldier Boy.

"On his way here, he blew up a Russia Restaurant on 59th Street. The cameras probably captured his face. It's almost impossible for him to go back to Vought now."

Xia Shang said from the sofa.

"What?!" Legend was like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, nearly jumping up on the spot. He said nervously, "Nobody saw you guys on the way here, right? I don't want to get sued when I'm about to die of old age and end up locked away in some pathetic nursing home."

"Don't worry, this has nothing to do with you. Even if they investigate, it'll only trace back to me." Soldier Boy frowned. Those damned memories started surfacing in his mind again. "I need to relax. That stuff should still be here, right?"

"Even if the United States is gone, that stuff won't disappear." Legend naturally understood what Soldier Boy was referring to.

He walked over to the television, and pulled out a bag of white powder from a dark compartment.

"Thanks to those guys' dedicated research, this stuff is even purer than before."

A moment later, Soldier Boy, whose mental focus had stabilized, raised his head and leaned back on the sofa, savoring the feeling.

"Besides getting my old Suit back, I came here to ask you two things."

"Don't be polite with me. Ask whatever you need. I promise I'll tell you everything I know." Legend said with a smile, cigar in his mouth.

"What's my relationship with Homelander?"

The first question caused the smile on Legend's face to freeze instantly. He slightly opened his mouth, unable to say a single word for a long time.

"Since I could blow up that Restaurant, I can also turn this place into Ruins." From Legend's flickering gaze, Soldier Boy saw a hint of something. Could Homelander really be his son? "Uh, well, I do know a bit about Homelander. As for his relationship with you, I always thought Vought wanted to mold him into a being like you..."

Legend stammered, trying to muddle through.

"He's my son."

As soon as Soldier Boy finished speaking, the cigar Legend was holding in his mouth fell onto the floor, leaving behind some ash.

"Alright, second question. Where does Crimson Countess live now?"

Soldier Boy, who had just learned he suddenly had a son, was in a relatively good mood. Ever since he was injected with Compound V, he thought he'd never be able to have a son or Daughter in his life. He didn't expect to wake up and find himself gaining a child in his old age.

"Sigh, I just wanted to enjoy my retirement. Why is it so damn hard?"

Legend sighed, wrote down Crimson Countess's address on the paper with a pen, and with a rip, handed the torn paper to Soldier Boy.
