It would have been fine if the fight had been against pirates who wanted to rob others. But based on Mirelle's testimony, that didn't seem to be the case.
Which pirates would seek to destroy their treasure ship without looting all the precious items first?
Once a ship was destroyed and sank to the bottom of the sea, the risk factor would increase tremendously.
