At that moment, they had just wrapped up a mission, and Kurenai...the team's graceful yet assertive sensei was inviting them out for dinner.

After nearly a month apart, the moment Hanabi saw Hinata, she bolted forward and jumped into her sister's arms with a genuine, if slightly dramatic, hug.
"Huh? Hanabi? And... Guts Sensei?"
Hinata was visibly surprised but then broke into a warm smile.
Despite everything, her personality hadn't changed much from the anime...kind, gentle, and modest.
"Guts," Kurenai approached with a smile, linking her arm around his in a way that made it obvious to everyone watching.
"I checked in with the Hokage. You and Hanabi haven't been on any official missions this past month. So... what exactly have you two been up to?"
Her voice was soft, affectionate. But there was a hint of playfulness in it too.
Guts shrugged. "Too much to explain here. I'll tell you everything once it's over. But for now, I need to borrow Hinata for a bit...before the Chūnin Exams."
Kurenai blinked in surprise. "Hmm?"
"It's kind of like... special training," Guts added with a slight smile. "Trust me. I'll explain the details later."
As he spoke, he casually reached up and brushed his fingers across Kurenai's cheek.
Her face turned red on instinct, but she nodded anyway.
"Alright... I trust you."
"Hey! That's not fair, Lord Guts!" Kiba shouted suddenly, crossing his arms. "Why's Hinata getting special training? I wanna get stronger too!"
Even though he sounded bratty, there was no denying the genuine respect in Kiba's eyes. Like many others, he'd grown up hearing about Guts...the man hailed as the strongest in the current Ninja World.
Guts glanced at Kiba and gave a grin that was way too mature and patronizing for comfort. He reached out, patted Kiba on the shoulder, and said with a calm voice:
"Kid… learning to accept reality is a step toward adulthood."
Kiba's eye twitched. "The hell's that supposed to mean?! You saying I've got no talent?"
Honestly, Guts wanted to say yes. But for the sake of Kurenai watching nearby, he held back.
Instead, he gently pushed Hanabi forward by the shoulders. "Here. Spar with her. Just one hand."
Hanabi blinked. "One hand?"
"Yeah."
Kiba's face twisted. "What, are you kidding me? A one-handed spar?! That's just straight-up insulting!"
Guts smiled. "I'm trying to protect your self-esteem. If one hand feels too embarrassing, I'll allow two."
He stepped back, arms crossed, giving them space.
"Tch...don't underestimate me!" Kiba growled, stepping forward. "I'm not the same as before!"
To his credit, he didn't summon Akamaru. After all, Hanabi was five years younger. And despite the loss during the placement test, he still chalked it up to a fluke.
He had learned chakra control now. He could climb trees, walk on water...hell, he was a real ninja.

"Ninja Art—Fang Over Fang!"

Before the technique even fully activated, Hanabi's tiny fist slammed into Kiba's cheek.
The sound echoed.
Kiba was sent flying backward again...even further than during their last match at the academy.
"Well... that was fast," Shino muttered, adjusting his glasses.
"Damn, that was awesome!" Naruto shouted, having arrived with Team 7 just in time to witness the scene.
Sakura's jaw dropped. "How can someone so small hit that hard?!"
Sasuke's fists clenched, jealousy boiling in his gut. How...? She's so much younger... yet already this strong? What the hell have I been doing all these years...?
Guts walked over and helped Kiba up with one hand, brushing off his shoulders.
"Unfortunate," he said, "but this world is one where bloodlines decide a lot of things."
"Pfft—hahaha! You got knocked out again, Kiba!" Naruto laughed, pointing at Kiba's now ballooned cheek.
"Shut up! Wanna go, idiot?!" Kiba snapped, leaping at Naruto, and just like that, the two were wrestling again in the middle of the street. For now, they were evenly matched.
In the years to come, Kiba would shamelessly tell people: "I was evenly matched with Uzumaki Naruto back in the day!"
Kurenai sighed, exasperated but clearly used to it. "You're still so rough with the kids. What if you traumatize them?"
But her tone held no real complaint.
Guts shrugged. "Better they know reality now than later. Come on, we should head back."
He turned to Hinata. "I'll be going to the far side for a bit. Head home with Hanabi and get ready. Got it?"
"Yes, Sensei Guts," Hinata said sweetly, bowing slightly. She then grabbed Hanabi's hand and started walking home.
Before leaving, Hanabi turned back, stuck out her tongue, and made a face.
Hmph! Bet you don't have the guts to bully me in front of Kurenai Sensei!
Kurenai saw the expression and chuckled. "So... what did you do to Hanabi this time?"
"Me? Bully her?" Guts raised a brow innocently. "You've got it all wrong. I educate her...with love."
What he didn't mention was that his so-called "love" training was inspired by the good ol' Garp method: throw the kid into hell, and if they survive, drag them back up before they break.
