Chapter 14 - The Tournament of Stars and Shadows

The long-awaited day had finally dawned—one that would be etched into the annals of Wysteria Academy for eternity.

A ripple of anticipation coursed through the atmosphere as the tournament grounds, nestled within a specially forged pocket dimension the size of a boundless multiverse, unfolded before the students. Galaxies hung like ornaments in the sky. Nebulas shimmered like cosmic drapes above. Planets spun in synchronized elegance, framing the divine colosseum that defied the laws of time and space.

At the epicenter of it all, on a throne forged from crystallized Aether, sat the elusive Principal—a being cloaked in mystery, known only by name and reputation. Around him were the academy's most elite professors, their expressions ranging from intrigue to quiet awe.

From the edge of the ring—a celestial platform so vast it could contain a lunar satellite with room to spare—stepped a striking woman. Her obsidian-black hair flowed like liquid shadow, and her deep violet pupils shimmered with unreadable knowledge.

Professor Bora's voice echoed across the universe-sized arena, resonating like an oracle's decree.

> "Students of Wysteria Academy... welcome to the Tournament. Let this be the battlefield where your training meets destiny. Show us your resolve. Let the tournament... begin!"

A tidal wave of cheers surged across the stadiums—floating coliseums orbiting the tournament ring. The matches commenced, first featuring the elite students of Class S.

Jin-woo rose through the rounds like a comet tearing through the void, his skill undeniable. Meanwhile, Mi-cha and Soo-ah—two prodigies, best friends, and rivals—blazed their way forward, their victories decisive and glorious.

And then came the clash the crowd had been waiting for.

Mi-cha and Soo-ah stood face-to-face at the center of the cosmic ring. A magnetic silence overtook the arena as the two locked eyes.

The match began.

With a flicker of movement, Mi-cha struck first. Her punch cracked through the void, launching Soo-ah through countless galaxies. The stars themselves trembled as planets shattered in her wake. Solar systems folded inwards from the impact. But Soo-ah wasn't done. In a trail of starlight, she rebounded, defying gravity and distance, and returned with a counter-kick that twisted reality. Mi-cha spiraled into the heart of an expanding galaxy cluster, her body glowing like a divine comet.

But Mi-cha was faster.

In a flash that bent light, she vanished—only to reappear behind Soo-ah with a thunderous punch that left space-time itself distorted. The force was too fast, too precise—Soo-ah was sent hurtling toward a black hole on the arena's edge, gravity pulling her in like a ravenous beast.

But Mi-cha was already there.

With the same speed that defied causality, she caught Soo-ah mid-air, yanked her free from the black hole's grasp, and gently placed her back on the ring. The crowd erupted. The match ended with Mi-cha victorious.

Breathing hard but smiling, Soo-ah approached her.

> "You win this time," she said, brushing stardust from her bruised cheek. "But I'll be back... and next time, I won't be so easy."

Mi-cha chuckled, her eyes gleaming.

> "Then I'll train even harder. Until then, let's enjoy being the best."

Their laughter echoed into the galaxies—two warriors bound by friendship and fierce resolve.

Then, the stage shifted.

The next match: Muhan Lockhart versus... See-hoo.

The crowd leaned forward, some with confusion. See-hoo? The underdog? The quiet one? Many scoffed. Muhan himself smirked, clearly unimpressed.

> "Try not to die too quickly," Muhan muttered, eyes half-lidded with amusement.

And then, like a bolt of wrathful lightning, Muhan moved.

At the speed of light, his fist barreled into See-hoo's chest, an explosion erupting that shattered millions of galaxies. The shockwave bent the fabric of existence. Dimensions collapsed in on themselves like paper.

But when the light faded—See-hoo was still standing. Unscathed.

Muhan's smirk faltered.

[Warning: Target exceeds standard threat parameters. Retreat advised.]

His system flared a red alert across his neural display. But it was too late. Muhan doubled down, throwing a barrage of punches, each strike creating rifts in reality itself. Yet See-hoo... caught them all. Effortlessly.

Then See-hoo grinned.

A flicker. A blur.

And then—CRACK.

See-hoo's punch struck Muhan's chest, ribs snapping like twigs. The force ejected Muhan from the tournament ring—no, out of the entire universe. The impact vaporized the surrounding cosmos. Muhan crashed into another universe, tumbling across alien terrain, disoriented and bloodied.

But See-hoo was already there.

Fist raised. No mercy.

A brutal, unrelenting barrage followed. Muhan's body was battered, face bloodied, systems malfunctioning. The professors watched in horrified silence.

> "Stop him!" the Principal barked.

But See-hoo didn't stop.

He raised Muhan's unconscious body and appeared—instantly—in front of Mi-cha in the spectator stands. His eyes gleamed with twisted delight.

> "This... this weakling. Is this the one you were madly in love with?" he sneered. "Pathetic."

Mi-cha froze, her hands trembling. Pain. Confusion. Rage. See-hoo dropped Muhan's body like discarded trash and raised his hand for the finishing blow—

But then—

Ji-hoon appeared, grabbing See-hoo's arm.

> "You're not killing my friend," Ji-hoon growled.

See-hoo's grin widened.

> "Then you can die with him."

In a single movement, See-hoo punched Ji-hoon straight out of the universe. The detonation eradicated entire constellations. Ji-hoon's ribs cracked audibly as his body crumpled mid-air.

But See-hoo wasn't done.

E

He grabbed Ji-hoon's leg and used him as a bludgeon, smashing through a nearby solar system. Planets crumbled into cosmic ash.

The audience was speechless. Some screamed. Some cried. Others stared, unable to process the slaughter.

Mi-cha's eyes blazed with tears and fury.

> He has to be stopped... before no universe is left.

See-hoo dropped Ji-hoon next to Muhan, then turned to Soo-ah.

> "Is this your boyfriend?" he jeered, lifting Ji-hoon's limp body. "He couldn't last a minute."

That was the final straw.

The Principal stood, his voice thunderous.

> "You dare commit murder under my watch?"

See-hoo stared at him. Calm. Mocking.

> "Yes," he said flatly.

Before the Principal could descend, Professor Lee stepped forward.

> "I'll handle this."

He launched forward—only for See-hoo to conjure a miniature multiverse in his palm. He shrank the dimension, hurled it at Lee, and—boom.

The dimension exploded like a singularity.

Professor Lee was gone.

Not just dead—erased.

The professors gasped.

> "Level 150... he was level 150!" Professor Su-ho choked out. "He didn't even get to throw a punch..."

> "Is this the monster Ji-hoon and Muhan faced...?" Professor Su-yang whispered.

But before the sentence finished, See-hoo vanished and reappeared beside Professor Su-ho. With a single touch—

GLITCH.

She was deleted. No scream. No trace. Just... nothing.

The arena fell silent.

The remaining professors stood paralyzed, unable to move. Fear permeated their souls. Even the Principal clenched his fists.

Mi-cha. Soo-ah. The students. All stared at the nightmare unfolding before them.

And See-hoo stood tall, smiling—a god unchained.
