Chapter 4 - Hope and The White Queen

After endless cries of despair, Il-Seong rose to pull up his now heavier body amidst the pouring rain. In the distance, he saw Decimilia already sitting beside Na-Rae's corpse. So close, Il-Seong asked in a flat tone.

"What else do you want...?"

Seeing Il-Seong like a walking corpse, Decimilia only sighed deeply before asking him,

"Was this girl very important to you? What if there was a way to save her?—"

Before Decimilia could finish speaking, Il-Seong lunged at her, grabbed her shoulders, and shook her violently.

"Tell me! Tell me how! I'll do anything! Please!"

Il-Seong forgot. Decimilia was a fantasy creature from a fairy tale land. If everything she said was true, even Il-Seong's reincarnation was possible. Perhaps the same could be done for Na-Rae.

"Calm down. Your death was quite different from hers. You died with your body completely destroyed, beyond recovery. That's why reincarnation was the only way. This girl... her body is intact. She can be revived. Only..."

Decimilia paused before continuing,

"...she won't truly come back to life this way. It's not that simple to fully restore a person..."

Il-Seong fell silent for a moment, then smiled bitterly and said,

"I don't care, as long as she can live again. Please, Deci..."

"Ahhh, stop!!! Don't give me that pleading face! My heart can't take it.... Ah..! Ahem, alright, listen carefully.

I can use my technique to manipulate the life energy within this girl's body to pull her soul back in. Of course, that life energy will be depleted just sustaining her existence.

If we're even a little late, her life energy will vanish, her soul will leave her body again, and she'll be dead once more. The only way to prevent that is to periodically supply her with life energy."

Il-Seong was confused but understood there was still hope for Na-Rae to stay alive.

"Then how do we supply that energy?"

Decimilia then smiled mischievously.

"You know I'm a succubus, right?~ My technique actually alters her slightly into a succubus~. So her life energy can be supplied by... you know what I mean?~"

Il-Seong's face flushed instantly. He understood the implication. How could he not? Succubi were notorious for being... sensual beings.

'No... anything... I'll do anything for Na-Rae. Her death is my fault. This is how I take responsibility.'

Decimilia laughed wickedly before finally turning serious.

She placed her hands on Na-Rae's abdomen. Moments later, a shimmering pink light began to envelop Na-Rae's body. Decimilia closed her eyes as she chanted an incantation.

"Aesgul… Ka ah'ti Naslum, Ku-Ah Sagol… Nirima luk'ha Kae'ro Saal…"

Not long after, Na-Rae's body began to show signs of life. Her chest rose and fell – she was breathing again. However, before Il-Seong could breathe a sigh of relief, Decimilia opened her eyes, her expression serious, and said—

"We have company..—"

"Huh?..."

A bolt of energy, shaped like light, shot through the heavy rain from afar, heading straight for them. Without turning her face from Il-Seong, Decimilia deflected the energy with her bare hand. She then glanced towards the source. A man in a black robe was walking leisurely towards them.

As he got closer, Il-Seong realized this figure was bandaged, barefoot, and held a pitch-black staff about 2 meters tall.

"It seems it was the right decision to follow the White Queen to this world. I can eliminate both of you at once. A blessing from the Celestials upon me, their ever-faithful servant who eradicates evil across the universe!"

The man arrogantly declared the death of Decimilia and Il-Seong!

"Il-Seong, I want you to stay right here. Don't move. I'll deal with this guy for a moment." Smiling faintly, Decimilia stood up, turning her back to Il-Seong and Na-Rae.

"H-hey, wait! Are you going to fight? Now? Here? Hey, it's dangerous! There are people around—"

Decimilia interrupted Il-Seong without turning around.

"Il-Seong, look around you. Have you seen anyone pass by since this began? Isn't it strange no one has come through? Il-Seong, when that girl was hit by the truck, this place was already under the influence of a protective domain... No one can enter here, and no one can leave... We've been trapped inside all along."

As Il-Seong reeled from the revealed truth, the mysterious man merely laughed smugly and mocked Il-Seong.

"Hooo? So this is the reincarnation of the legendary Weaver? Doesn't even recognize a Magic Domain... Give it up, White Queen~. What do you expect from that man? Hahaha! Better you step aside, let me kill him, and surrender yourself for capture! If you bow to the King, he might even take you as a consort... though you'll most likely just end up as a sex slave~."

Decimilia's face remained impassive, but her hands visibly trembled – not from fear or panic, purely from rage at the man's words.

"Decimilia…" Il-Seong murmured.

Decimilia reached towards her chest. A small dimensional rift appeared. Her hand reached inside, grasped something, and pulled it out – a strangely shaped sword. It was irregular, resembling a sword yet also like a staff.

Without preamble, Decimilia slashed at the empty space before her. A dimension tore open, and from it emerged a creature resembling a fusion of a rabbit and a human, with red eyes and a large build. The rabbit charged straight at the mysterious man.

The man simply smiled faintly. "Bind." As the word left his lips, countless chains materialized, binding the giant rabbit. However, the rabbit bit through the chains, snapping them. Unfazed, the man casually swung his staff. More chains appeared, twisting together to form a humanoid figure. Using the chains, the figure formed a whip connected to its hand.

The creature lashed the whip towards the giant rabbit. The rabbit dodged nimbly. Seizing an opening, the rabbit charged the chain creature, delivering a powerful kick. The creature momentarily scattered into a tangle of chains but quickly reformed.

"Rule the Second, Gift!"

Instantly, the rabbit's fists were enveloped in dark, void-like black flames. The fire flared silently, emitting no light. This time, the rabbit struck. Like before, the chain creature shattered apart. But now, the chains struck by the blow vanished instantly. The creature could no longer fully reform. The white rabbit seized this chance to attack the mysterious man himself.

But the chain creature swiftly unraveled and reformed before the man as a shield. The rabbit pummeled it relentlessly until only a few chains remained. But exactly one minute passed, and the rabbit vanished without a trace.

"Exactly one minute. It's true. Your magical capacity has diminished. The White Queen, the Void Demon, has weakened! Hahahaha! What kind of comedy is this?! HAHAHAHAHA!"

The man mocked Decimilia. It was true. Void power was terrifyingly strong. But without sufficient magic, she couldn't do much.

But Decimilia wasn't foolish. She knew this well. Her previous actions were merely to buy time, because—

"Woah! So this is the other world His Majesty always talks about?"

A muscular woman with a giant battleaxe appeared behind Decimilia. Arka, who then fused with Decimilia's body, laughed heartily. Decimilia's body was now clad in white spirit armor, and she held the giant axe.

"Hohoho! Arka! The famous God Hunter Brigade. Ahh, I see... So it's a Spirit Fusion technique... hmmm... interesting!"

The mysterious man nodded thoughtfully, as if understanding the situation. Decimilia now leaped incredibly high, swung her axe through the air, and shot towards the man. Masses of chains reappeared, but the axe cleaved through them like butter. As the axe was about to strike the man, he used his staff to block Decimilia's attack. Decimilia snarled and, with a powerful shove, pressed down with superhuman strength, throwing the man to the ground.

Blood trickling from his lips, the man still wore an evil smile. Now, thousands of chains appeared and fused with his body, forming a muscular frame. He drew a longsword from his staff – semi-transparent, nearly invisible, contrasting sharply with the staff's color.

The man leaped into the air and slashed at Decimilia, who blocked with her axe. A sharp clang rang out. The man could now match Decimilia's strength; the power he exerted was different from before.

The two exchanged blows and slashes. Occasionally, the axe managed to slice through the chain body, but more chains immediately covered the gaps. Seeing the endless fight, Decimilia made a decision—

"Arka, let's do that thing…."

"Huh? Your Majesty? Are you sure?" Arka asked, surprised.

"There's no other choice. This is endless! Besides, I have the Weaver now... So let's do it."

"Very well, Your Majesty~~"

Their conversation ended in agreement. Together, they shouted—

""DOMINION BREAKER!""

The face of the man, who had been smiling and laughing all along, soured. He knew exactly what they were about to do.

"OI, WHITE QUEEN! YOU'VE GONE MAD! Do you want to die?! I know your magic is weakened! There's no way you can pull it off—"

Without waiting for him to finish, Decimilia launched the attack with a combined roar from Arka and herself. The man frantically blocked with his sword, but this attack was vastly different. The iron muscles he formed from chains couldn't withstand it.

"NO! IMPOSSIBLE! I WILL NOT FALL TO YOU REBELS! I AM THE EMISSARY OF THE GODS!!!!"

The man's scream echoed as he strained against the attack. Decimilia and the man both screamed with all their might, trying to overpower each other. Cracks appeared on the man's sword before it finally shattered into pieces.

The giant axe cleaved through the man. A pillar of light formed, slamming into the ground. The man's eyes widened in disbelief. "....Impossible...You...you're insane…." Before he crumbled into dust.
