Chapter 235 - Tasted Like Home

The room was still wrapped in the quiet rhythm of their breathing. The world outside no longer mattered.

Adam lay half-propped on one elbow, his arm draped protectively around Sofia, tracing idle patterns on her bare shoulder. Moonlight pooled on the sheets, turning her skin to silk. Her fingers rested against his chest, feeling the steady thud of his heart beneath her palm.

Neither of them spoke for a while. They didn't need to. The silence said everything—the forgiveness, the rediscovery, the ache that had finally found peace.

Sofia shifted slightly, curling closer, her head fitting perfectly against the hollow of his neck. Adam breathed her in—lavender shampoo, faint traces of wine, and something purely her. He smiled against her hair. "You're quiet."

She smiled lazily. "I'm happy enough to be quiet."

Adam chuckled low in his throat, a sound that vibrated against her cheek. "I might get used to this."
