The car ride was filled with laughter.
Sofia had her feet propped up on the seat, a wedding folder open in her lap, flipping through pages of cake inspiration and vendor notes. Adam drove with one hand on the wheel, the other reaching over occasionally to tap her knee or steal glances like he couldn't quite believe she was really his.
The sunlight painted golden streaks across the dashboard, catching the way her hair shifted in the breeze and making the little gold hoops in her ears gleam with every playful turn of her head.
"Okay," Sofia said, scanning the list. "So we've got lemon coconut, triple dark chocolate, strawberry champagne, and... earl grey honey? My love, are we eating cake or drinking perfume?"
Adam smirked. "Don't pretend you're not curious about the earl grey."
"I'm curious how we'll explain to the guests if half the room falls asleep from floral sugar overload."
