Chapter 349 - Chapter 349: Kidnapping the Fifth Hokage

Inside the Hokage Office.

Faced with the sudden intrusion of the mysterious white-haired man, an Anbu ninja squad reacted instantly and surrounded him. The situation was tense as if about to ignite into battle.

But at this moment, Fifth Hokage Tsunade stood up and stopped her subordinates' actions.

"Put away your weapons. He is my friend."

Tsunade scolded the Anbu ninja in a commanding tone. Her aura of authority immediately caused them to panic slightly, hurriedly sheathing their kunai and ninja blades.

Then, Tsunade turned toward Samui, who stood nearby looking clearly astonished.

"As you just heard, I will accept the invitation to visit Akagakure and attend the Five Kage Summit as scheduled. You've come a long way. Shizune, take her to rest first!"

Under Tsunade's instructions, Shizune led Samui out of the office to the hotel.

Before exiting, driven by curiosity, Samui couldn't help glancing back at Heiyan. Who was this man? How could he actually make decisions for the Fifth Hokage? It just felt... off.

Soon after everyone had left.

Bang.

Heiyan shut the door closed and locked it casually from inside, preventing any interruptions.

Then, just as he turned around, a delicate fragrance filled his senses—Tsunade had rushed into his arms.

"You've worked hard these three years."

Heiyan rubbed Tsunade's head gently, offering comfort.

"This is all your fault! Luring me back here to become Hokage! You have no idea how exhausting this damned job is!"

Suddenly stepping back twice, hands resting on her waist, Tsunade puffed her cheeks like an angry squirrel, complaining about being tricked by Heiyan.

"My dear, I'll surely make it up to you," Heiyan replied helplessly, walking closer to her.

"Hmph! Don't want your compensation!" Tsunade turned away stubbornly, still annoyed, and walked toward the large floor-to-ceiling window. Crossing her arms, she gazed at the cityscape outside, leaving only her back view for Heiyan.

Smirking silently, Heiyan directly approached and embraced her from behind. Before Tsunade could react, he pressed forward against her, pinning her body against the glass pane.

"What are you doing?" Tsunade felt slightly breathless, complaining discontentedly.

"I remember that from within this floor-to-ceiling window we can see outside, but those outside cannot see in—it's such brilliant design."

Rather than answering Tsunade, Heiyan instead made a seemingly irrelevant comment.

However, Tsunade quickly understood what he meant and immediately flushed red.

"No... we can't..."

She offered only symbolic resistance before surrendering completely.

After all, when the two were once madly in love they'd been forced apart. For over three years, each day had felt endless without him.

Now reunited at last, it was like fire meeting dry wood—longing ignited instantly.

Hours later, as dusk gradually fell.

Golden sunlight poured through the windows, spreading warmth and serenity across everything.

The Hokage's office now looked thoroughly disheveled. Files previously piled high on the desk lay scattered across the floor. Chairs were broken beyond recognition—as if a fierce battle had erupted inside.

On the sofa sat Heiyan, with Tsunade peacefully asleep in his arms.

Heiyan gently stroked Tsunade's hair while going through mission reports, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the current situation in the world of shinobi.

In this timeline, due to his intervention, the storyline where Six Paths of Pain invaded Konoha never occurred. As a result, Tsunade didn't fall into a coma from that battle, and there was no scenario where Danzo became acting Hokage representing Konoha at the Five Kages Summit.

History had experienced a minor deviation.

After careful consideration, Heiyan decided to correct this historical deviation because he hoped events would continue developing exactly as they did in the original timeline—until The Fourth Great Ninja War erupted, until Kaguya was brought back through [Resurrection].

After all, Kaguya Otsutsuki was one of the primary reasons Heiyan came to this original timeline.

Thinking about this, Heiyan lowered his head to look at Tsunade in his arms.

Her current state could probably count as... unconscious, right?

If so...

A daring plan began taking shape in Heiyan's mind.

To prevent Tsunade from waking up too soon, he took further action, sealing parts of her chakra system and acupoints as well as her five senses.

Then he stood up, hoisting Tsunade under his right arm as he walked toward the large floor-to-ceiling windows.

Yes, he was planning to abduct Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage.

Following this, the ambitious Danzo would certainly make his move, seize the position of acting Hokage, and attend the Five Kages Summit just like in the original timeline.

Meanwhile, back downstairs at the Hokage Tower.

At dusk, numerous Konoha ninja who had been out on missions returned to report and settle accounts at the Mission Assignment Desk.

This was the liveliest time of day.

Small groups of ninja leaving the Hokage building laughed and chatted companionably as they headed home to be with their families or went to izakayas (traditional Japanese-style pubs) for dinner and drinks—basically off to enjoy life's pleasures.

Nearby, outside the hotel entrance, Samui also stepped out of her room, ready to take a stroll around Konoha Village.

Occasionally men passed by, and without exception, their eyes couldn't help lingering on Samui, staring for extra moments—even someone actually bumped into a streetlight pole because he wasn't watching where he was going.

Even among the world of shinobi, Samui was rare—a woman with porcelain skin and a flawless figure.

Furthermore, compared to her physical appearance, Samui's inner qualities were even more impressive.

As a Jonin from Akagakure, she possessed vast knowledge and remained calm and cautious. These traits earned her deep trust from the Fourth Raikage. That was why he felt confident assigning her as an envoy for this mission in Konoha.

Frankly speaking, the process of this mission turned out easier than Samui anticipated—it went remarkably smoothly.

What concerned her most was that mysterious man with flowing white hair who played a key role during the mission.

Thinking about this, instinctively, Samui raised her head, looking toward the row of floor-to-ceiling windows outside the Hokage office on the third floor of the Hokage Tower.

For several hours previously, while sitting inside her hotel room, she kept raising her gaze to observe these windows, monitoring activities inside and outside the Hokage building.

She hadn't seen Heiyan leave the building during those several hours.

That meant—the white-haired man had stayed inside with Fifth Hokage Tsunade the entire time.

They must be talking about something really important.

Perhaps they were formulating strategies to deal with the upcoming Five Kages Meeting?

Just as Samui was lost in thought—

[Crack!]

A crisp sound came from afar, snapping her out of her thoughts.

Samui's beautiful turquoise eyes widened at that moment, for she witnessed an unbelievable sight:

The cracking sound had come from the window outside the Hokage office—shattered from within, leaving a large hole.

Shards of glass rained down, scattering across the ground. Several Konoha ninjas below looked up in shock at the cause.

[Whoosh!] The next instant,
