"You?!"
Obito gasped, completely losing his composure.
He had been impersonating Madara Uchiha, manipulating the Nine-Tails to destroy Konoha—committing deeds that would shake the world. But in reality, not long ago, he had only been a sixteen-year-old Genin from the Leaf Village—the dead last, weak and powerless.
Now his mask had been torn off by Heiyan, exposing his true identity in an instant.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Covering his wounded arm, Obito stumbled backward in panic, frantically searching for a way to escape.
"Don't worry, I won't kill you. As I said, I'm just a passing traveler."
Heiyan noticed Obito's fear and gestured for him to calm down. Then, shifting tone suddenly, he added, "However, I've already seen your fate. So I plan to step aside and watch as you march steadily toward your doom. To me, this process is pure excitement and enjoyment."
"Heh, then you're going to be disappointed, because I will never fall. On the contrary, one day I'll rule over the entire world."
Obito sneered, refusing to believe a word Heiyan said.
"It's good for a young man to have confidence."
Heiyan didn't argue but instead turned around. "That's all. We'll meet again on the night the Uchiha clan is destroyed. I hope you can keep that confidence until then."
The moment he finished speaking, Heiyan's figure twisted and vanished into Kamui's space.
"The Night of the Uchiha Clan's Destruction? What does that mean?"
Obito murmured to himself, puzzled by Heiyan's words.
Was this man planning to wipe out the Uchiha clan in the Leaf?
But what did that have to do with him?
Thinking further, Obito sneered coldly again.
Trying to threaten him through the Uchiha clan was pointless.
Because he was no longer who he used to be. He no longer felt any emotional ties to the Uchiha. Even if every single one of them were slaughtered, it wouldn't stir even the slightest emotion in him.
"I must find out who this guy is and deal with him. Otherwise, he could become a serious threat to my plans."
Obito muttered to himself, memorizing Heiyan's appearance. He intended to return and use the powerful intelligence network left behind by Madara Uchiha to uncover everything about this stranger.
Meanwhile, inside the Hidden Leaf Village:
Heiyan hovered in midair, gazing at the ruined village below.
No sooner had he stepped out of Kamui's space than he realized the battle had already ended. As expected, Minato and Kushina had both died, and the Nine-Tails had been split—half sealed within the Death God, and the other half sealed inside Naruto through a sealing technique.
Shaking his head, Heiyan stepped once more through the time-space gate.
The river of time surged forward. Standing on its banks, Heiyan watched as scenes flickered past like a slideshow.
Eight years passed in an instant.
It was now Year 56 of the Leaf Village.
By then, Itachi Uchiha had already joined Anbu and was serving as deputy squad leader—at only thirteen years old. Trapped between his clan and the elders of the village, he lived as a double agent.
Heiyan saw the Uchiha clan gathered together, their expressions filled with fanatical fervor as they plotted to stage a coup d'état and seize control of the Hidden Leaf.
He also caught sight of Shisui Uchiha among them.
As the Uchiha clan's publicly recognized strongest ninja, Shisui was powerless to stop his clansmen from rebelling or resist Danzo's ambition. To make matters worse, he had one of his Mangekyou Sharingan eyes stolen by the latter.
At the waterfall on the Naha River, Shisui handed over his remaining eye to Itachi before leaping into the falls and ending his life.
Faced with impossible choices, Itachi ultimately accepted Danzo's mission. On a moonlit night, he raised his blade against his own clansmen, initiating a brutal massacre.
"Heiyan mused aloud while watching these scenes unfold," the Uchiha truly do seem plagued with certain psychological issues. Whether it's Shisui, Itachi, or earlier figures like Obito and Madara—all tend toward extreme behavior."
Clearly then, Fugaku must be among the rare exceptions within the Uchiha.
With this thought, Heiyan gazed at the crimson moon overhead, then stepped forward once more into the river of time.
Konoha.
Ever since the Nine-Tails' attack eight years ago, the Uchiha had been relocated to the village's outskirts due to widespread knowledge that the beast had been controlled by the Sharingan.
During these past eight years, tensions between the Uchiha and both Konoha's high-ranking elders and other village clans had steadily worsened, reaching an irreversible breaking point.
Within a secluded forest inside the Uchiha clan's restricted area:
"Tonight we begin," said Itachi Uchiha to the man standing before him.
"Fine," the man replied as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I'll keep my promise and help you." Wearing a yellow-and-black tiger-pattern mask and long flowing hair, this figure was none other than Obito—posing as Madara.
"Then I will act accordingly," Itachi stated emotionlessly, turning on his heel and walking away.
That night,
The atmosphere outside the Uchiha compound grew tense and deadly. Hidden in the dark, Anbu ninjas watched sharply, gripping their weapons, ready to strike at any second.
This deployment came directly from orders issued by the village elders upon learning of the Uchiha's planned rebellion.
Two squad leaders stood near the front, quietly conversing.
"That kid Itachi sure has guts—to turn his blade on his very own people just to climb ranks within Anbu. At this rate, he won't even be content being second-in-command much longer—he'll soon want our heads too."
One muttered with a mix of sarcasm and suspicion.
"But can he really pull this off alone? The Uchiha aren't just a few—they number in hundreds, many of them Jonin who've awakened triple-tomoe Sharingan."
His companion frowned deeply.
"That's exactly why we're here," the first replied coolly. "Not a single Uchiha leaves this place alive tonight—no one escapes. Not even... Itachi Uchiha himself."
The air thickened with killing intent.
Just then—
Tap. Tap. Tap.
A rhythmic clatter echoed down the narrow street.
To the shock of all hidden Anbu, a white-robed young man with flowing white hair strolled leisurely past them, completely unhurried.
"Almost forgot, in the original timeline, the Uchiha clan moved to the village's outskirts..."
Heiyan murmured to himself, looking around nervously, like he didn't know where he was. But in the end, he made his way toward the newly relocated police headquarters.
He knew Anbu ninja lurked around, but chose not to acknowledge them.
Who is this person?
The two captains exchanged confused glances. They realized Heiyan wasn't from the village—they had no idea where he came from.
But appearing here so late at night couldn't be a coincidence.
So one captain coldly issued orders to his subordinates:
"Eliminate him."
