"We'll start working after college. You're coming to my home," Avery announced, her tone diplomatic, firm yet polished, like a head of state issuing an official order rather than a class project arrangement.
Silas blinked, then nodded without question. "Sure," he said simply, a small, almost boyish smile touching his lips. He didn't even notice the strictness in her tone.
All he cared about was that he'd get to spend more time with her, alone- finally away from the legendary third wheel daniala. The mere thought made his heart feel lighter.
Daniala raised her brows from where she sat beside Avery but didn't comment. She just watched the subtle shift in Silas's expression and bit back a knowing grin.
"Dani, let's go," Avery said briskly, standing up and gathering her books. "Next class is about to start."
"Coming, my lady," Daniala replied with exaggerated grace, giving a little mock bow before following Avery out of the room.
