"Let's go get the printout," Avery said cheerfully as she emerged from the bathroom, drying her hands on a tissue. Her energy was back, her earlier tension gone now that she'd freshened up.
Daniala finally slipped her phone into her pocket with a sigh of relief. "Finally! I thought you'd disappeared in there," she teased, starting to walk alongside Avery toward the computer lab.
"Yeah, yeah," Avery said, waving her hand dismissively. "Now, let's just finish this before I forget again. You have no idea how proud I am of myself for remembering my pendrive today."
"Then prove it," Daniala said with a grin. "Come on, give me the pendrive. Everything's already set up."
Avery nodded confidently, unzipping her bag, only for her face to fall a few seconds later as she rummaged inside.
"Uh…" she muttered, digging through her things again, pushing aside notebooks, pens, and a small pouch. "Where is it?"
