Avery stepped through the front door, closing it softly behind her as the familiar scent of home greeted her.
It had been a long day at the office, meetings, follow-ups, planning for IFA, media queries, internal updates. it was exhausting. All she wanted now was a shower, maybe a cup of tea, and silence.
But to her mild surprise, the silence she expected wasn't quite there.
Because Silas was.
He was sitting on the living room couch, posture slightly slouched, elbows resting on his knees, one hand lightly brushing against his lips as he stared into space.
She blinked. He hadn't even noticed her enter.
He looked deep in thought uncharacteristically tense. There was a slight furrow in his brow, a tightness in his jaw, as though he was thinking about something unpleasant.
Maybe something troubling. It was rare to catch him looking vulnerable like this.
Avery frowned slightly, tilting her head.
