Avery followed his gaze, her eyebrows raising slightly as she took in the intimidating presence of the two bodyguards. Built like military-grade tanks, both men stood with a straight-backed discipline that hinted at years of tactical training.
The man sitting between them, however, was a completely different sight, thin, sweaty, nervous, and bound tightly to a chair like he'd just stepped into the wrong scene of a crime thriller.
