Adrian stared at the figure in front of him who had just screamed loud enough to scare the life out of him—and of course, it was none other than his overly dramatic best friend, Sam.
"Sam!" Adrian exhaled sharply, placing a hand over his chest as if that might slow the erratic beating of his heart. "What the hell are you doing?! You almost gave me a cardiac arrest!"
Sam, clearly unfazed, burst into laughter. He doubled over on the couch, slapping his thigh as though he'd just pulled off the greatest prank of the decade. "Haha! I knew you'd react like this. That was gold! Did you see your face? I swear you looked like you saw a ghost."
Adrian narrowed his eyes at the grinning idiot. "You know, I'm seriously starting to regret ever giving you a spare key to my place."
Still chuckling, Sam leaned back against the armrest, one arm casually thrown behind his head. "Oh, come on, bro. We both know you love me. Why else would you trust me with something as sacred as apartment access?"
