"Yes, alone!" Avery said, firm and direct, her words leaving Silas with no room to argue.
He leaned back in his chair with a sigh so dramatic it could've won awards. "Shouldn't you be happy?" she added, tilting her head slightly. "You'll finally get your precious alone time."
"Yeah," Silas muttered, frowning. "Alone time. With your cat."
Avery couldn't help but smile, sipping water from her glass to hide the amusement glimmering in her eyes.
"Relax," she said after a beat, setting the glass down. "I won't give you that peace anytime soon. The brand launch is still taking up all my time, and the event is weeks away. So, you're stuck with me for a little longer."
Silas's eyes lit up instantly, like someone had handed him a second scoop of his favorite dessert. "So should we plan our next dinner now?"
