Cherreads

Chapter 10 - Chapter 9 |•| Screams

My wrists burned where the ropes bit into my skin, every desperate tug only tightening the cruel knots. The student council office felt smaller, suffocating, like a cage closing in. My breath came fast, ragged and my screams echoed off the cold walls, sharp and raw.

"Let me go!" I screamed again, voice cracking. "Please! You don't have to do this!"

Kuroo stepped closer, eyes dark and fierce. "You really think it's that simple, Y/n?" His voice was velvet with menace. "You're ours now. No running."

I glared at him, trying to summon strength, but the room spun, the ropes held firm. "Why are you doing this? What do you want from me?"

Terushima smirked from the corner, folding his arms. "She's got spirit, I'll give her that. But the question is... where do we keep her?"

Oikawa's grin was wicked, his eyes glinting with cruel amusement. "Good question. I say we keep her in the main room right where I can watch her. No one else gets to."

"Ha!" Atsumu scoffed loudly. "Like I'd let you near her. She's mine to guard, not your little pet."

"Please," Bokuto growled, stepping forward. "She belongs with me. I'm the only one who can keep her safe and sane."

Suna raised an eyebrow, voice cold as ice. "Safe? You're all insane. She's going to break if you keep fighting like this."

"Break? That's the whole point," Tsukishima said, voice low, clipped. "The question is who gets to own her when she's broken."

"Stop it!" I cried, tears blurring my vision. "You're tearing me apart!"

Kuroo's face twitched with a twisted smile. "Oh, Y/n... we are tearing you apart. And rebuilding you in our image."

Suddenly, Semi's sharp voice cut through the rising chaos. "Enough with the games!"

"Then decide!" Oikawa snapped back. "Who gets to watch her? Who gets the first claim?"

The room exploded into shouting again insults flying sharper than knives.

"You're delusional if you think you're better for her!" Bokuto shouted at Atsumu.

"Oh please, Bokuto, don't act like you have the brain for this," Atsumu retorted, eyes blazing.

Terushima laughed cruelly. "You all act like children fighting over a doll."

"You're the biggest joke here," Tsukishima sneered at Terushima, voice dripping contempt.

Kuroo slammed his fist on the desk, silencing them for a moment. "Enough! We all want her but this fight ends now. We decide together. For her."

The tension in the room thickened like a storm ready to break, voices still simmering beneath Kuroo's command.

Oikawa scoffed, folding his arms with a smug grin. "Decide together? Since when do you care about fairness? You're just afraid you'll lose her."

Atsumu crossed his arms, glaring. "Better than being a clingy loser who can't even keep his own emotions in check."

Bokuto's jaw clenched. "Says the guy who cries over a volleyball game. Grow up."

Terushima leaned forward, eyes glittering with malice. "You're all pathetic. She's the prize, not some trophy for your little egos."

"She's not your prize, Terushima. You don't even deserve to be in this room," Tsukishima snapped, voice icy.

Semi's voice cut sharply through the insults like a knife. "Enough of your childish bickering! This isn't some game to see who gets the prettiest doll. She's a person. You hear me?"

Silence fell for a beat, but it was fragile.

Kuroo smirked, leaning down close enough that I could see the madness sparkling in his eyes. "She's ours no matter what you say."

"Mine," Oikawa whispered darkly, stepping closer, a possessive gleam in his gaze.

"You're delusional," Suna said, voice steady but cold. "She'll break if you keep tearing her apart."

"She'll break," Tsukishima agreed, voice low. "And we'll be the ones holding the pieces."

My chest heaved. Every word was like a blade twisting inside me.

"Please," I begged, voice barely more than a whisper. "Just stop. I'm not yours."

But their laughter filled the room, hollow and cruel.

"You're ours whether you like it or not," Kuroo said softly, brushing a stray hair from my face like I was fragile glass.

And somewhere deep inside, I felt the first crack.

The room erupted again, voices rising like thunder.

Oikawa snapped, "You think you're so clever, Kuroo? Always playing the Perfect Council President, but you're just a coward hiding behind your schemes."

Kuroo's eyes narrowed, a dangerous smile curling his lips. "And you, Oikawa, are nothing but a pretty face with no backbone. All talk, no action."

"Better than being a manipulative snake like you," Oikawa hissed back, stepping closer with a mocking grin.

"Keep talking," Kuroo shot back coldly, "and I might just show you how wrong you are."

"You wouldn't dare," Oikawa sneered.

"Oh, I would," Kuroo growled.

Behind their war of words, I shifted slightly, careful not to draw attention. My wrists screamed against the rough rope, but I fought the panic, sliding a shaky finger under a knot.

Bokuto shouted, "Stop squabbling like children! You're embarrassing yourselves."

Terushima sneered, "Says the loudmouth who can't even hold a damn conversation without yelling."

"Watch your mouth, Terushima," Tsukishima said with an icy menace.

"Or what?" Terushima smirked, stepping forward.

"You'd regret it," Tsukishima said, eyes flashing.

The room was a powder keg, everyone teetering on the edge of violence.

Amid their shouting, my fingers worked faster, the knot loosening just a bit.

"Focus, idiots," Semi snapped, glaring at all of them. "We're supposed to be controlling her, not destroying each other."

Suna's voice cut through, calm but firm. "This fight is pointless if we can't agree where she goes."

Oikawa turned, eyes sharp. "Fine. I say I watch her first. I can keep her in line."

"Like you've got the patience," Atsumu scoffed.

"She's not a game to be controlled by your ego," Semi said coldly.

My breath hitched as I pulled a bit harder. The ropes were loosening just a little.

Kuroo, still locked in his verbal duel with Oikawa, failed to notice.

And neither did the others or so i thought.

Suddenly, a sharp voice cut through the chaos.

"Wait… hold on."

Everyone's arguing faltered.

Osamu stood stiffly near the wall, arms folded but eyes narrowed on the floor near me. "That rope... it's touching the ground."

The words hit like ice water. A slow, creeping silence spread across the room as the others followed his gaze.

Their eyes locked on my wrists one knot half undone, the frayed end of the rope brushing against the cold tile floor.

Atsumu blinked. "Wait..how the hell?"

I froze. My hands still went mid-movement, chest rising and falling too fast to hide the panic building in my throat. The blood rushed in my ears.

Kuroo stepped forward slowly, crouching to meet my eyes. His smirk widened, dangerous and amused.

"Well, well…" His voice dropped to a near-whisper. "Trying to run while we were fighting over you? How sneaky."

"Is that it?" Oikawa hissed, stepping beside him with a wicked smile. "Were you waiting for us to get distracted so you could just… slip away? That's low, Y/n."

Bokuto's hands clenched at his sides, a wild fury dancing in his eyes. "Do you think we wouldn't notice? You think we're stupid?"

"I wasn't..-" I started, but my voice broke, the lie brittle.

"Don't lie," Tsukishima cut coldly, glasses glinting. "You were going to run. You were going to leave us."

Suna tilted his head, voice flat. "And then what? Go to the police? Tell them your precious student council is full of psychopaths?"

Terushima laughed, low and slow, dragging a hand through his hair. "I gotta admit, though you got guts, babe. Not smart, but gutsy."

"You weren't gonna get far," Semi added, eyes sharp with something unreadable. "We'd find you. We always do."

Osamu's voice was soft, almost gentle, but the weight behind it chilled me. "Do you realize what you almost made us do, Y/n?"

I opened my mouth, but nothing came out.

"You almost made us hurt you," Kuroo said, tapping a finger against his temple. "Almost made us really hurt you."

Oikawa crouched in front of me now too, his expression eerily sweet. "Do you want to know what happens when you run, Y/n?"

I shook my head.

"That's too bad," he continued with a smirk. "Because I think you're going to learn the hard way."

Atsumu snorted. "Don't pretend you wouldn't be devastated if she got away, Oikawa. You'd cry like a toddler."

"Oh shut up," Oikawa snapped. "At least I don't talk to her like she's a damn pet."

"You wish she was your pet," Atsumu sneered. "She's not gonna look at you the way she looks at me."

"She doesn't look at any of us with anything but fear, genius," Tsukishima muttered.

"Fear is still attention," Suna murmured. "And fear keeps her obedient."

"Don't talk about her like she's an object!" Semi barked, taking a threatening step forward. "You think I want her to be afraid of me?"

"She's not afraid of me," Bokuto said quietly, though his voice trembled with restrained emotion. "She talks to me. She trusts me."

"That's because you act like a kicked puppy and guilt-trip her into fake affection," Terushima laughed.

Kuroo stood, slowly, the rope in his hand now. He ran it between his fingers, thoughtful.

"I don't care who watches her," he said after a moment. "But I'll be the one who ties the knots next time."

"You think I'd trust your knots after this?" Oikawa snarled. "She almost got out."

"Only because you were too busy crying over how pretty she is to pay attention," Kuroo snapped.

"Oh, like you're not obsessed with her scent," Oikawa shot back. "You're practically a damn bloodhound."

"You all need to shut the hell up," Semi growled. "This isn't about you."

"Yes it is," Tsukishima said quietly. "It's always been about us."

They all paused.

I dared to look up nine pairs of eyes burning into me from every direction. Like animals. Like gods.

"She belongs to all of us," Bokuto muttered. "That's the rule."

Kuroo chuckled darkly. "And she doesn't get to decide otherwise."

Oikawa leaned down, nose nearly touching mine. "So… try running again, Y/n."

He tilted his head, that fake sweetness dripping with venom.

"Let's see how far you get before one of us catches you. Maybe we even let you think you're getting away. That could be fun."

"I won't run," I whispered, voice trembling.

"That's what I thought," Tsukishima said, adjusting his glasses again. "Because you know we'll always find you."

The room was deathly still.

Then Kuroo stood, glancing around. "Now that she's re-educated on the consequences… where do we keep her?"

"I still say my place," Oikawa said, brushing hair from his face. "She trusts me the most."

"In your dreams," Suna sneered. "You'd probably tie her up with satin and play romantic music."

"Says the guy who'd post a thousand photos of her while she's sleeping," Osamu muttered.

"I don't see a problem with that," Suna shrugged.

"I swear to god, I'll break your nose," Semi growled, stepping toward him.

"Oh please," Tsukishima said dryly. "You'd cry if someone bruised her."

"Better than hiding my obsession behind sarcasm," Semi shot back.

"You're all hopeless," Terushima said with a laugh. "Let's just rotate. Each of us gets her for a day."

"No way," Bokuto barked. "I'm not sharing."

"You don't get to decide that!" Oikawa snapped.

Kuroo's eyes gleamed with a strange kind of pride as he pushed back from the desk. "I have an idea," he said, voice low but commanding. "My parents have a villa not far from here. Spacious, secluded, and perfect for… keeping her."

Everyone's attention snapped to him, the room falling momentarily silent.

"A villa?" Terushima scoffed. "You serious?"

Kuroo smirked, folding his arms. "Dead serious. It's got everything we need. Security, privacy… and enough space so no one gets on each other's nerves. Plus, summer break's coming. We'll have plenty of time to visit."

Oikawa's lips curved into that sly grin. "I have to admit… that sounds tempting. A place where we don't have to sneak around."

Atsumu nodded, eyes glittering. "Finally, somewhere that's ours."

Bokuto's grin was almost childlike. "A whole villa? She's going to be spoiled."

Tsukishima adjusted his glasses, but the corner of his mouth twitched upward. "I suppose it beats this cramped office."

Semi crossed his arms. "I can agree. We'll take turns watching her. And if she tries anything.."

"-we'll be right there," Suna finished, voice steady.

Kuroo's smile turned softer, almost possessive. "She can stay there with me. But the villa is open to all of us. You want to visit? Come by anytime. That way, no one feels left out."

The tension in the room shifted, the earlier bickering replaced by a strange, uneasy agreement.

Oikawa nodded. "Alright. The villa it is."

Terushima laughed darkly. "Looks like summer break just got interesting."

Suna leaned against the wall, arms crossed, eyes flickering down to you. "That's all well and good, but how the hell are we supposed to get her out of the school without anyone noticing?" His voice was calm, but sharp. "She's bruised, scared, tied up and pretty damn recognizable."

"That's true…" Osamu muttered, brows furrowed. "She's always in the spotlight. Teachers know her. Students follow her around. People would notice if she just disappeared."

"And don't forget her parents," Tsukishima added, a sneer forming at the corner of his mouth. "They don't give a damn about her, but they'll raise hell if their precious prodigy goes missing."

Oikawa rolled his eyes, scoffing. "Oh please. Her parents only care because she makes them look good. Awards, grades, image. Not like they're actually capable of love."

"I bet they wouldn't even notice for a few days if we 'excused' her from school," Terushima said with a smirk. "All it would take is a forged note. 'Studying abroad' or some crap."

"We could fake an internship," Atsumu suggested. "Her parents would eat that up. Some prestigious, overseas research things. Y'know, to 'expand her genius.'"

Kuroo's eyes glinted, a low chuckle rumbling in his chest. "Exactly. And I know someone who can handle the paperwork. Make it legit enough that no one questions it. Especially not her parents."

Bokuto perked up. "So we trick everyone into thinking she's off being… what, even smarter than she already is?"

"Exactly," Kuroo nodded. "Her parents will be so busy bragging, they won't think twice. And the school? Please. They'll bow down to the story once they see the forged documentation."

Oikawa grinned, clearly impressed. "You really are a snake, Kuroo. I like it."

Suna raised an eyebrow. "And getting her out of the school physically?"

Kuroo turned toward you with a smirk. "That's the easiest part. A change of clothes, sunglasses, maybe a hoodie. Something simple. We walk her out like she's sick or transferring. Who's gonna stop the student council?"

"I call driving her," Atsumu muttered under his breath.

"We drive her," Semi corrected, glaring. "Together. No one gets special privileges."

Bokuto nodded. "Yeah! She's ours, not yours alone."

Their voices began to rise again in argument and all too familiar pattern but your ears could only focus on the rushing in your head. The villa. The lies. The plan. They were going to take you.
