Sectum Amplifica
Lucas watched his spell fan out, sweeping across the forest and shredding it as if it had been fed into a wood chipper.
Grunts and whines of escaping life echoed through the destruction.
With another sweep of his arm, a terrifying wave of heat erupted, a snake of fire plowing through the few lucky ghouls who had remained unscathed.
His eyes glowed as the fiery reaper claimed lives within a 500-meter radius.

Lucas smirked, scanning the spoils of his dungeon run. It had only been a week since his first run, and he couldn't have been happier with his progress.
The Standard Books of Spells V2 was a godsend. Lucas mused, considering the increased complexity, power, and versatility the book had granted him.
Two books appeared in Lucas' hand, their titles clear. Each one had just been granted as his Kill Quest rewards. Releasing a breath he hadn't realized he was holding, Lucas couldn't help the giddiness he felt.
"Finally, I won't have to worry about someone like Edward or Aro reading my mind. Sure, Gamer's Mind might help stop someone from controlling me, but reading it? It says nothing about that."
Lucas quickly absorbed the books, gaining one passive and one active skill.
Pulling up his status page, Lucas took a moment to review the changes he'd undergone in the last twelve hours.

The distinct thrum of power Lucas had felt at level 15 had undoubtedly leaped—and not in a simple 'double the level, double the power' situation. It was as if the purity of his magic, along with how he wielded it, had been sublimated.
Along with the level increase, Lucas had been granted a title at level 20, boosting his power even further.
Some spells no longer required their incantation, or even a hand movement.
Lucas could simply will his magic to do his bidding.
"It must be that the more in tune I am with magic, the more magic does what I command. Maybe reaching the true peak of my class means being able to manipulate magic without these restrictions?"
System, what happens when I hit 100 in my class?
[Upon reaching 100 in any class you are given the option to ascend to a higher tier of your original class, or if you no longer wish to continue, you will be granted a completely different class.]
Hmm… so many options.

The alleyway was dimly lit as Lucas turned, his eyes scanning each corner for anything he might have missed.
Canceling the effects of the Cloak of Invisibility, Lucas began walking through the dingy alley.
Step one, complete.
After his dungeon run, Lucas had one main objective before his new school year: a car. He didn't need anything flashy, but something that could get him from one point to another in Forks would be a lifesaver.
I could Apparate anywhere I want, but people would eventually start questioning how I appeared everywhere on foot.
Now, the Cloak of Invisibility was another surprise for Lucas. After acquiring it, he had intended to drape the item over his shoulders, similar to how Harry Potter had utilized it.
Fortunately, the System—being the most broken thing in existence—was there to simplify everything. The Cloak became bound to his soul, and a simple mental command would render his body invisible, removing sound, smells, or body heat.
It was as if a barrier of overpowered invisibility completely shrouded his existence.
Walking through the streets of Seattle, Lucas couldn't help but smile as he observed the lively city. Compared to Forks, this place resembled a beehive of energy.
———
"Are you absolutely sure this is the car you want, kid?" The overweight man, Marvin, asked Lucas, a hint of surprise in his voice. He'd seen plenty of young kids eye this beauty, but usually it was just wishful thinking.
"Yeah, I think so," Lucas replied, a genuine grin spreading across his face as his eyes lingered on the sleek, powerful lines of the old car. "She's perfect."
"I've got cash. Can we go ahead and get this done?" Lucas turned to the man, giving his backpack a light pat as if to signify the money was inside.
Like I'd carry it on me. Thanks again for the System's storage.
Marvin's smile widened, a true salesman's grin, as he gestured for Lucas to follow him inside to complete the paperwork.
———
The roar of an engine sounded loudly as a sleek and beautiful 1971 Mustang Mach 1 parked on the side of the road. The humming and purring of the vehicle was a stark contrast to the quiet of Forks.
Stepping out of the car, Lucas stared at his next destination: Forks General and Outdoor.
Hopefully, this has the stuff I need.
His objective was to purchase items to begin his own garden, specifically focused on growing potion ingredients. Lucas was aware that the dungeons supplied him with enough, but having an on-call option would alleviate his worries.
Stepping inside the store, his eyes scanned the first aisle directly in front of him.
"Compost… ah… there you are!"
"No, I'm not growing tomatoes… not this."
"I'm not growing flowers…"
"Maybe I should ask someone."
Stepping out of the aisle, Lucas quickly found one of the employees and walked toward her. "Excuse me, I was wondering if you could help me out with something?"
The girl, hearing his voice, turned and offered the kind of warm, practiced smile that came from working in hospitality.
"Of course! What can I help you find?"
Staring at her, Lucas felt a flicker of recognition. Her almost cat-eye like glasses were too distinct to be anyone else.
Angela?
"I've got some plants that aren't exactly native to this climate, and I'm struggling to find the right kind of compost for them."
Angela nodded slowly, her eyebrows furrowing in thought. "Hmm, I think I know just what you need. Follow me, they should be between aisle one and two."
Turning, she made a beeline for the back of the shop, Lucas right behind her. Turning the corner, she gestured toward the display.
"These should do! It's a bit on the expensive side, but I know the people who've purchased it have never complained. It's pretty versatile."
Smiling, Lucas effortlessly picked up the 50L bag and turned back to Angela, before mentally slapping himself. Idiot. This isn't light!
"Oh, wow. I guess you don't need a cart then?" she said, her eyes widening slightly as she watched Lucas hold the bag with ease.
"Uh, not really," Lucas chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. "I guess working out has been more beneficial than I thought?"
The duo walked toward the counter, a comfortable silence settling between them.
Lucas's eyes scanned the store, taking in the homely vibe it emanated.
"So… are you new to Forks?" Angela asked as they reached the counter, breaking the quiet.
"Yeah, just moved here a week or so ago," Lucas replied, fishing out his wallet and handing Angela the cash. "Doing some last-minute shopping before classes start and I have no time for anything else."
"Oh, cool!" she said, placing the change in Lucas's hand as she smiled at him. "I'm Angela Weber. I'll probably see you around at school."
"I'm Lucas Ambrose. It's really nice to meet you, Angela."
"Have you checked out the town much since you got here?"
Lucas shook his head. "Not really, just the Lodge a couple of days ago. Got any suggestions for me? I'm totally up for doing the whole tourist gig."
Laughing softly, Angela thought for a moment before pulling out a small piece of paper and scribbling down some information.
"La Push is pretty nice, even when it's raining. And if you follow the backroad behind the high school for about thirty minutes, you'll end up near a natural waterfall too."
Handing him the paper, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and smiled. "That's my number, by the way. My friends usually go to the beach every couple of weeks; if you message me, I can send you an invite."
Lucas nodded happily, pocketing the number. "Thanks, Angela, that's awesome! I should head back, but I'll definitely message you later." Lifting the soil bag, Lucas turned and exited the store.
God, she's so nice! Smiling, he stowed his purchase in the backseat before hopping back into the car.
