Chapter 364 - Chapter 363: The Transcendent C’tan

Nareth and Freddy proceeded along the green-mist-filled passage towards the pyramid.

Along the way, Nareth pondered.

'Since entering the Ymga Monolith, the Transcendent C'tan's power hasn't manifested at all. It might be forcibly dormant, or its power might have waned.'

'Maybe just maybe the Kingdom of Disorder can be used to control it.'

The moment the man and the wolf entered the pyramid, the surroundings trembled, and a voice abruptly sounded.

The voice was not heard in the ears, nor did it echo in the mind.

The "Baron of Corruption" saw the rule-lines surrounding him trembling.

It was everything around him, primarily from the pyramid, and even from his own armor and bolter.

They all underwent complex and subtle tremors together, symphoning into a voice.

"Nareth."

"I am Mag'ladroth, the Void Dragon. I am a C'tan, belonging to the tides of stars and time."

"I am the manifestation of this universe's form and existence. I am a god."

Nareth's eyes narrowed. 'So it's a Transcendent Shard of the Void Dragon.'

He knew that after the Nightbringer lost his scythe, the Void Dragon became the strongest of the C'tan.

And of the C'tan that were shattered into a hundred fragments, the Void Dragon's were the most powerful of all.

A Transcendent Shard formed from the Void Dragon would naturally surpass any other.

'Hmm, physically replicating thousands of warships falls under the domain of machinery, the Void Dragon's most proficient area.'

'The Sautekh Crypteks must have used the Void Dragon as the foundation to create the artifact.'

'The Transcendent C'tan's power is greater than I imagined. It is merely confined within the pyramid by the methods of the Sautekh Crypteks.'

Nareth knew that the Tesseract Vault generated energy fields using the C'tan's energy through surrounding tendrils, imprisoning them.

Sautekh's relics were more powerful than other Necron technologies, capable of restraining the Transcendent C'tan's power from leaking outside the pyramid.

The Transcendent C'tan was forced to become the energy source for the Ymga Monolith.

As he pondered, the "voice" continued.

"You will free me. And you will be rewarded."

"Your creator endowed you with power far beyond ordinary beings, but the power of the Warp cannot compare to mastery over the material realm."

Nareth's lips curled slightly, inwardly mocking.

'If I didn't know your largest shard was beaten and imprisoned by the Emperor, I might actually believe it.'

Sensing Nareth's doubt, the "voice" suddenly rose, its "anger" within it was deafening, like a cataclysmic wave crashing down.

"I am the true god! The living incarnate of this universe!"

"The Warp is but a pale shadow."

"I AM THE LIGHT!"

The sound waves battered Nareth, causing him to pause under the pressure, but it caused no substantial harm.

The "Baron of Corruption" saw the rule-lines tremble, but it did not trigger drastic changes in reality.

'Sautekh's relic is indeed powerful, thoroughly restraining the Void Dragon shard.'

'Well, at least until the Great Rift opens, the Transcendent C'tan remains imprisoned.'

'I can proceed, observe, and gain a direct understanding of the Transcendent C'tan. It will also be beneficial for controlling it in the future when I have the ability.'

"You will free me. I shall travel the galaxy, reuniting with my scattered parts."

"And after that… I can grant you anything you desire."

Nareth continued forward. The space before him suddenly opened up, and he looked up into the air.

A star blazed in the void's night sky, and terrible heat surged forth from its luminous core.

The power of an extinguished sun radiated outward, making the entire pyramid tremble.

The black wolf's claws gripped the ground tightly, its smooth fur standing on end, sweat dripping down.

Freddy said uneasily, "He is dangerous. He is trying to break free."

The next instant, the web-like glyphs densely covering the pyramid lit up. A terrifying cloud of green electricity enveloped the entire star, lightning crackling.

The form in the air gradually clarified: head, torso, arms, legs.

The crown on its head gradually materialized, made of silver metal like its body.

Shining wings spread from its back, and a metallic tail longer than its body swayed behind it.

The "Baron of Corruption" could also see the spiritual radiance shimmering on its form. He thought to himself.

'Main ingredient for a potion of the 'Paragon pathway?'

'Hmm, a Void Dragon shard should at least be at Sequence 1 "Illuminator" level.'

The Void Dragon made a gesture. Its right hand shimmered, and a spear materialized out of nowhere.

Just as it was about to move, a green light erupted within the pyramid and suppressed it.

A moment later, the light receded.

The Void Dragon rumbled, light shining through its gleaming silver skin.

It gazed down with overwhelming arrogance, stern features, exaggerated angles, and a head elongated.

Its form was somewhere between an Aeldari and a human, its expression colder and ruthless than either species.

Nareth keenly perceived that the C'tan's anger was cold, almost emotionless, manifested as violent vibrations of atomic energy rather than through cruder chemical reactions.

"I am the master of the material realm, the embodiment of oblivion and destruction."

"You must free me. You will receive everything you desire."

"What I want… you cannot give," Nareth said calmly, continuing to observe and analyze the Transcendent C'tan using his own perceptions from multiple perspectives.

The Void Dragon looked down upon Nareth, who defied him. He saw the golden wings, his eyes gleaming.

He then saw the sword at Nareth's waist, light shining within his form.

Nareth simultaneously looked at the Aeldari talisman encircling the Void Dragon's neck. He knew it was a Vaul talisman.

The Vaul talisman exposed the Void Dragon's fatal weakness, leading to its defeat.

The Void Dragon's gaze finally fell on the spear behind Nareth.

After twelve seconds of silence, it spoke again.

"Nareth, what do you want?"

"I want you." After weighing the options, Nareth decided to give up for now and deal with the Transcendent C'tan after his own Sequence had advanced.

'Since the Void Dragon won't break free for the next ten thousand years in the future, and now I control the Ymga Monolith, there's no need to take the risk.'

"What?"

A thunderous roar sounded. The Void Dragon doubted what it had heard.

It thought it had a chance to escape its bonds, never expecting that Nareth also coveted it.

Nareth waited for the sound waves to subside and said to Freddy beside him.

"Let's go."

The black wolf shook its body, sweat falling to the ground, pooling beneath it.

It eagerly turned around; it had long wanted to leave this place.

Freddy had already guessed that Nareth intended to use that mysterious space to subdue the Void Dragon.

'No matter how powerful this thing is, it cannot compare to the mysterious space.'

'What hee isn't acting now, only making preparations?'

Nareth left the pyramid with Freddy, thinking to himself.

'Is the erasure of Hannibal and the Second Legion's information from Imperial records related to this?'

'Well, at least not initially related. He clearly didn't release the Void Dragon, and he discovered the Ymga Monolith early in the Great Crusade, while his records were erased later.'

Nareth returned to the control chamber and immediately issued orders to everyone: "The Transcendent C'tan inside the pyramid is extremely dangerous. No one is permitted to enter."
