"Joshua Dhurudatta, age 29, height 6 '2 and weight 90kg, Alpha Dominant, correct?" A woman dressed in all white read in a rather loud voice in front of Joshua who was now sitting in a room, Joshua nodded.
The female nurse handed Joshua the paper she had been holding.
"The results are out, you can come back here for a check-up next month. Thank you."
Joshua held the paper in his hand, reading every word on it and let out a long sigh. He put on the black leather jacket that he had hung in the room during the examination, carrying his black backpack as he walked out of the hospital to the parking lot.
Joshua grabbed his helmet and put it on, and deftly rode his motorcycle towards somewhere. The trip took almost two hours, and he stopped by a sweet shop to buy some chocolates and snacks.
He entered a familiar area, after parking his bike, he took off his black helmet and walked towards the door. Before he could open it, the door was already wide open, two children aged eleven and eight years old rushed in hugging his long and big legs.
"UNCLE!" Both of them squealed in unison while chuckling.
"Ah! You've finally arrived." Ian's voice, his omega father came from inside the house after a short look, the man's hand holding a tray of food that was still puffing smoke.
"Welcome, Josh." His brother-in-law, Shiloh, smiled broadly to greet him. Still with his long gray hair he looked much more cheerful.
"Uncle! Uncle! Did you bring more candies and chocolates?!" A thirteen-year-old girl's shrill voice rang out, her long black hair neatly braided, her body looking so tall and slender. She stared with curiosity.
"Leona! Don't keep eating sweets! Josh, stop feeding your nieces and nephews sweets!" Cross' half-shouted voice from inside the house rang out and Joshua sighed. His legs were still being hugged by Seth as well as Ivan, Gruv and Shiloh's childrens when Joshua closed the door.
Today is Ivan's eighth birthday. Unlike before, they decided to celebrate his birthday only with only family. Therefore, today the whole family gathered. Ian and Sage have been here since two days ago, Cross and his wife Sarah are also coming with their daughter Leona.
Seth, who lives with his foster mother on the island, has been here since last week. He still doesn't want to leave his foster mother on the island alone, so he only comes during school holidays or special occasions.
"Stop bothering your uncle, he just came." Gruvv came down the stairs, immediately carrying Ivan while Seth immediately ran to hug him. Now the two children were like koalas hanging from a tree.
The Dhurudatta family was now so crowded, there were more chattering children besides Leona. Joshua's head used to throb a lot seeing all this, but now he's used to it.
"How was the check-up going?" Sage asked as Joshua now sat beside him, the large dining table was already full of various kinds of food, Ave, Gruvv's maid was arranging several plates and glasses on the table, assisted by another maid.
"You had a checkup today?" Cross asked, his hands busy uncovering a napkin over his wife's thighs as well as over his daughter's thighs.
"Has two months already passed? Why so soon? What's the result?" Gruvv now asked, his hand was also busy scooping up the food to Seth's plate.
Ian chuckled while holding Joshua's shoulder, "You guys ask too many questions, I think now Josh is confused about which one to answer first."
That's right. Joshua is now confused about who he should answer first, his family is so big and nosy, everyone always wants to know what happened to him, what he is doing. In the past, only Gruvv and Cross seemed to be obsessed with him, but now besides them he also had a brother and sister-in-law who was worried about what happened to him.
"I've asked the best doctor there to examine him. I hope they can find out the results sooner." Sarah spoke, cutting the roast meat on her plate and looking at Joshua.
"The vitamins I bought yesterday, you should take them home and don't forget to take them after meals." Shiloh, who was persuading Ivan to eat broccoli, also spoke, he was no longer afraid of dealing with Joshua after his memory was lost.
"Uncle, are you okay?"
"Uncle, did you go to the hospital alone? You're so cool!"
"Uncle, you are so cool!"
So are his noisy nieces and nephews.
Joshua had just picked up his fork and knife when Sage took away his plate, replacing it with a plate of roast beef that had all been cut up. He is 29 years old, but his family still treats him like a child the same age as Ivan.
"The results are out." Joshua said that one sentence had all eyes on him.
They waited curiously, while the clueless children were busy with their own food.
"They call it Singular Alpha." Joshua said, chewing the meat in his mouth.
The whole family fell silent.
"Singular Alpha?" Shiloh asked, he turned to Gruvv who was still staring at Joshua.
"Singular Alpha is a very rare Alpha, that Alpha can only smell the omega pheromones of his own family or the closest person who has done knotting, bonding or marking by his family." Gruvv explained to Shiloh who was now nodding, Shiloh still couldn't understand some things after his memory disappeared eight years ago.
Joshua nodded, he had just read that on the paper displaying his examination results.
"Is there no problem other than that?" Cross asked, looking at Joshua seriously.
The man shook his head slowly.
Ian and Sage looked at each other.
"Singular Alpha is something not to be afraid of," Sage said, as he continued to cut the roast meat on his plate, "it's just that Joshua cannot be affected by the smell of other omega pheromones, nor will he be affected by the smell of omega pheromones within his own family. Singular Alpha is an Alpha who is called a loyal Alpha."
"Loyal?" Cross frowned.
"Singular Alpha, only can smell the pheromones of their destined mate."
Joshua's head hurt so much, the sound of shouting was still heard from inside the room but the gunshots were no longer heard. He threw his head back, looking for the origin of the shots, there were too many tall buildings surrounding this building. The shoes' sound approaching them could be heard.
"Young master, are you alright?" George came over to him, Shin immediately contacted the guards outside the building to be on standby. Things were so chaotic inside the building.
Joshua was still hugging Amari with his body shaking violently.
"I'm fine, it's not me they're after." Joshua said, he now looked down, looking at Amari who still had his eyes closed. He held Amari's arm, making the man sit between his legs. Both of the man's hands covered his ears.
"They're after Amari." Joshua looked at George who was surprised to hear that.
"Amari! Amari!" The shrill voice of a middle-aged woman was heard approaching, several guards scattering behind her. She rushed over to embrace Amari, who was still terrified.
"Amari my son, oh my!" She hugged him tightly, letting Amari calm himself down.
"Thank you! Thank you for saving Amari..." The middle-aged woman whimpered with tears. Joshua nodded, he then stood up, still there looking at Amari who was no longer trembling. His face was filled with tears.
"We found a bullet that fell to the ground, we'll check it out." Said one of the Amari family guards to Mrs. Ashleen who nodded tearfully.
"That shot..." Joshua was just about to ask when George stopped him, the man shook his head, signaling Joshua not to continue with whatever he wanted to ask.
Joshua was silent, shut his mouth. He then helped Mrs. Ashleen gets Amari up on his own two feet.
The mother and son were a mess, the party that was supposed to end in about three hours was now over. Everyone went back to their cars accompanied by the guards. Amari sat on a bench, waiting for Mrs. Ashleen with her car. He was no longer shaking but still looked very shocked by what had happened.
Joshua handed Amari the bottle, the man raised his head and their eyes met.
"Drink it, it'll help you calm down a lot." Joshua said, Amari took the bottle and chugged it slowly.
"Thank you..." He muttered softly.
"Are you okay? Any injuries?" Asked Joshua then, Amari shook his head, he didn't feel any pain with his body, it was just that the fear kept attacking him.
"Amari...You...What's going on?"
Amari looked at Joshua, he didn't know what was happening either. He wanted to tell Joshua what he had experienced but his mouth felt so tight, his throat hurt, he couldn't say anything. Amari remained silent until one of the guards came over and helped him get out of there.
Joshua looked at Amari's back, his forehead furrowed, as he was about to leave the place, he smelled a sweet scent. A scent so sweet like peaches. He turned around, Amari was running towards him.
"Josh, can I have your phone number?" He asked, holding out his phone to Joshua.
The man paused, he took a deep breath and the peach scent wafted up again, the peach scent that came from Amari's body.
"Singular Alpha, only can smell the pheromones of their destined mate."
