He didn't know how he remained alive. While lying on his back, with no way to move, he heard the noises of he grasslands. He was sure that there were at least three snakes that passed around him. There were some moments around the area where he had cut off the head of the creature. He figured the blood would have attracted some predator, that would surely see him as a free meal.
But nothing attacked him. Nothing tried taking a bite out of him.
By the time Harry was able to stand up, the sun had set. The thin moon was high up in the sky, signifying that the full moon was not that far away. He looked around and did not see any creature or beast in sight. Just empty grasslands were stretched to the horizon were waiting for him.
He checked the wound on his back and could tell that it was not bad. A cut like that would have bled him dry to some extent, but he had heard from the people of the tribe that the Vita heals the wounds faster. Which was why he had been pumping Vita through his body the whole time, in order not to bleed out.
It seems my strategy worked, he thought, as he started making his way back to the tribe.
While walking, he kept thinking about what transpired today.
He didn't have a grudge against Imka, even though he tried to kill him. That man was clearly not thinking straight. But he knew that if he went back, Imka would try killing him once again. And this put him in a sort of dilemma.
A part of Harry knew that in order for him to live, Imka had to die. And while he was at it, Gremla and Karina also had to die. But the problem was, he didn't know how to approach this problem. If he were to kill all of them together, someone was bound to raise some questions, and he would end up in the same place where he was earlier.
But he doesn't kill anyone, so he would once again end up in a situation where he almost died. Although he had made peace with his mortality, that doesn't mean that he would go off without a fight. Today was different, but next time, he was sure that he would at least try to save himself.
"Or should I.." He thought out loud, "Kill everyone in the Tribe? That could work,"
Seeing the slavery that these guys practiced, he had already vowed to kill every single one of the Vulcans and destroy the Heks as well. "Preponing plans is not my style, but it could work,"
A sudden sound jolted him to reality. Warily, he looked around to see the creature at some distance. The crazy part was, the creature seemed to be glowing. Curious, he knelt down on the ground and started making his way to the creature.
After coming just close enough, he crouched and used his eyes to watch the creature. And only then was Harry able to appreciate how beautiful the thing before him was.
Standing majestically on his four legs, the creature had strong and muscular legs with hooves. It had green fur with black dots, its mouth was long like a horse's, and it had two antennae like protrusions in the place of eyebrows. It had white majestic hair starting from the back of its head, all the way to the nape of its neck, and to its tail in the rear.
The creature was eating grass in peace, while it was its stomach was glowing, giving off a light blue light. It looked as if someone had inserted a blue light in the creature, yet it only increased the beauty of the creature.
Jenny, scan the thing, He commanded.
An image appeared before him, baffling him. The creature had Vita, much more than him. Hell, even the grand priestess won't have the Vita that the creature had. While the blue light was coming from a dense source of energy, comprising Vita and something else.
This is surprising, he thought as he stared at the creature with awe. I didn't know that the creatures of this world could also possess Vita. I dont think that they could use Vita like we do, right?
The creature raised his head and stopped chewing. Harry lay on the grass again, thinking that the creature must have smelled him or something. But that wasn't the case, the creature started looking around the empty grassfield, as if searching for something. Curious, he also scanned the area, only to realize that there was something camouflaged, south of the creature.
My sensor didnt pick that up, he thought, and realized that it was because this was nighttime that his sensors didnt pick up anything. During the day, it is very easy to see distortions to identify camouflage. But at night time, it was simply a nightmare…
The Watsumono started moving towards the creature, slowly creeping from its back. The majestic creature, on the other hand, was warily looking around, as if it had sensed the danger.
Just when Harry thought that it was over for the creature, that thing turned around abruptly and opened its mouth. A stream of blue fire was shot towards Watsumono.
Breaking the camouflage, Watsumono dodged the attack, but wasn't left unscathed from the attack. While Harry, it was the first time that he saw the Apex predator of these lands up close. It had a black body with pointy and razor-sharp talons on each leg. Its skull had an extension on the top side, which hid the nape of the creature. While the most unsettling thing about it was its face, as it didnt have any eyes or nose. It just had a mouth filled with spikes like teeth.
When Harry thought that the Watsumon, the so-called Apex predator of the area, would die because of a glowing horse, his HUD picked up a change in the temperature in Watsumono's body. Its temperature started rising up and the Vita in its body started gathering in one place.
Before he knew it, Watsumono created a ball of Vita in its mouth. And from the ball, a beam of Vita was emitted, it was very thin and so deadly that it cleaved the glowing horse in half.
While Harry stood there, "What the fuck!" he exclaimed loudly.
Watsumon heard him, as it clearly looked his way. But it never approached or attacked him, probably because it didn't have any interest in him. It was more interested in the meat of the horse. Seeing this as his cue to run, Harry quietly slipped away before Watsumono could come his way… _
