Chapter 8 - The music and preparations

There was a lot of noise coming from the cargo house during the day. All the Omegas and some Warriors were helping with the decorations, especially the single ones who were most interested in the event.

Some music could be heard outside. Luz was fed up with hiding in her room, but she was more afraid of being attacked again, so she stayed inside despite her boredom.

Aliana left her for a while because she needed to talk to her brother. They were very close, and she had been away from him for several days. Meanwhile, Luz continued to hear the music and was tempted to go outside. On Earth, she was used to hearing music on the radio or on her cell phone, but there was nothing like that here. She carefully opened the door and glanced outside. Her eyes met those of the guard, who was surprised by her big green eyes, even though he already had a mental image of what she looked like, thanks to one of the maids. Still, he was surprised. Luz tried to close the door but stopped because she wanted to hear the cheerful music better.

"Don't worry. I'm here to protect you. I won't hurt you," said Sarmiento, the guard in charge.

"Are you sure?" Luz asked him.

"I'm absolutely sure. Aliana would have my head if anything bad happened to you."

Luz thought that everyone was overly violent when it came to the punishments they wanted to inflict for any offense. It made her skin crawl, but she tried not to think about it too much. Focusing on the music, she opened the door a little more and looked through the crack at the huge man standing to the side. Gathering her courage, she spoke to him, ready to start all over again.

"Hi, I'm Luz. Who are you?"

The question sounded childish and direct, but she wanted to be brief.

"I'm Sarmiento, one of the Alpha's trusted warriors."

Luz gave him a curious look. He was big and intimidating with bulging muscles, but something in his tone of voice reassured her. He seemed gentler than she expected a wolf to be.

"Where is that music coming from?" she asked the man.

"From the central courtyard." Everyone is excited about the Full Moon Celebration. The hustle and bustle is due to the preparations, and the music is meant to cheer on our people."

"Are you looking for a mate?" Luz asked curiously.

"No, I already found her. The goddess Selene blessed me with her six years ago."

Luz couldn't help but be moved by the warrior's words; he was so full of love for his companion. Leaning her head further into the hallway, she closed her eyes and listened to the music. This tribe definitely didn't have a radio or television, so live music was a wonderful treat.

She was enjoying herself when she felt someone watching her. She looked in Sarmiento's direction, but he was standing with his head slightly bowed forward. She frowned and squeezed her eyelids shut for a minute. When she opened them, she saw a young, tall, burly, handsome man with brown hair and black eyes standing almost directly in front of her.

Luz was startled to see him looking at her. She noticed his curious eyes, but she didn't feel in danger.

"I can finally see you. I'm Cristian, the Gamma of this pack."

Cristian was amazed to see this beautiful creature. Although they had described her appearance to him, nothing could have prepared him for seeing her in person. He stared at her, mouth agape, feeling his heart race with excitement. After searching the area so many times, he had finally found her.

Luz didn't have time to answer when she felt someone rush toward her and cover her.

"Luz, I need to talk to you. Let's go into the room." Aliana hurried down the hallway, watching the scene, and pushed the human into the room. "Cristian, you can continue with your activities. The party is almost ready. Have a good day."

Cristian couldn't react to Aliana's precise and concise words. He was also stunned by the sight of this beautiful woman. He had never seen anyone like her before: the color of her eyes, her skin, her curly hair, and the faint scent of honey were all unique. He only felt positive energy, and his heart melted at the sight of her. He definitely wanted to know more about her.

Inside the room, Aliana was talking to Luz. "Did Cristian do something to make you feel uncomfortable?"

"Honestly, I didn't even get to say hello to him. He spoke to me briefly, and then you arrived."

Luz was impressed. She had never seen eyes as black as obsidian. They seemed to only have pupils and no irises, and she was amazed by the sight. She said to Aliana, "In this world, everyone has such unusual eye colors."

"What do you mean by that?" Aliana asked.

"It's just strange for me to see so many different eye colors. I've never seen them on my planet."

"Really?" Aliana asked, surprised. "Our eye colors vary in shades such as gray, black, red, yellow, and blue. , but no one has green eyes. Anyone who sees you will be surprised."

"Really?" Luz replied, also surprised. "Where I come from, the most common eye colors are brown, blue, and green. There are no other colors, only different shades. They can be lighter or darker, but we don't have golden, red, or gray eyes. This applies to humans since we see different colors in animals, such as the red color of rabbits' eyes, but nothing beyond that. On my planet, far fewer people have green eyes, but there are still many of us. I inherited my eye color from my mother."

"Gamma Cristian, I found what you asked for. Tell me what to do with this," said Oru, one of the assistants at the shipping company, who was like a butler. Seeing that Cristian did not answer, he became concerned.

"Gamma? Gamma Cristian? Are you okay?"

Cristian felt a tap on his shoulder, snapping him out of his trance. Realizing that someone was talking to him, Cristian asked Oru to repeat the question. He instructed Oru to use the tablecloths as long curtains since they were long enough to hang in crescent shapes and further decorate the central courtyard.

Cristian couldn't get the adorable girl's image out of his head. He tried to remember the stories his grandmother told him about the great powers of the humans who lived in his region thousands of years ago. Could the spell be one of theirs? He thought to himself.

Later, he caught up with Beta and told him that he had had a brief encounter with the girl and how amazed he had been when he saw her.

"I would love to question her and see what her powers are," he said excitedly.

The Beta, on the other hand, was not excited. He was concerned that the creature might harm the pack, but he and the Alpha concluded that it was unlikely since Caspian had almost killed her. If she had had powers, she would have been able to harm him. With these thoughts, he tried to quell his concern for now.

"Stay away from that thing," the Beta urged. "We don't know anything about her. She won't be with us long because Aliana wants to help her return to her people. The sooner she does, the sooner we'll be rid of one more worry."

The Beta was concerned about everything happening far from the Gamma's notice because Cristian was completely focused on preparations for the Full Moon celebration. The event was too important, so they preferred to leave the Gamma out of these concerns for the time being. The other leaders in charge of his protection are planning attack and defense strategies against the imminent threat of attacks by the Antraxs or the witches. The wolves have no proof that the witches were involved in the attacks. However, it's hard to believe that the monsters would set traps. Furthermore, the witches should have found traces of black magic during their rounds, but that hasn't happened. They are also coordinating meetings with other villages to gather information and create support networks. The Alpha suspected that these attacks were happening elsewhere on the continent as well.

Alpha Caspian was known as an excellent strategist and the strongest among his people. It was no surprise that he had spies all over the continent, waiting to tie up loose ends and confirm his suspicions. On this planet, information traveled more slowly because there were no planes, cars, or telephones. Life was similar to the Middle Ages, but with modern conveniences like drinking water and hot showers. However, they lacked computers, cell phones, and many other things.

"For now, just worry about the ceremony," Beta said in a friendly tone. "Remember, none of us have found our mates yet. Maybe this is our chance."

The preparations continued without a hitch over the next few days.

Everyone was excited about the event, but the singles looking for their soulmates were even more so.

---------------------------------------------------------

"Luz, tomorrow night is our ceremony, and we're both going to attend," Aliana said excitedly. "We'll eat and dance. I'll get you a pretty dress for your birthday and the moon celebration. Only we know about your birthday, but that won't stop you from attending a party tomorrow night."

Luz was definitely unsure about going out in public. Even though she hadn't heard her attacker's voice again and didn't know who he was, she was still afraid.

"What's your favorite color?" Aliana asked.

"Red," Luz replied without hesitation.

Aliana left the room and returned with a beautiful blood-red dress, a beautiful woman behind her.

"Luz, meet Deni. She's an excellent seamstress and will help you with the dress."

"We looked through my dresses, but I definitely don't have your size, and you wouldn't fit into mine." Aliana was tall and thin with undeveloped curves, and she had only recently become a werewolf.

I brought a dress that belonged to my beloved mother. She was taller than you, but she had a similar body type, so it should fit you well.

"Are you sure you want to give me your mother's dress? After all, it's a memento, isn't it?"

Aliana looked at her fondly and was surprised by her concern. "Don't worry. I know my mother would be happy to give it to a good friend of her daughter's."

The two of them hugged and shed a few tears after this.

The dress was beautiful. Luz tried it on, but it was too big, so Deni got to work. She took some pins, shortened the hem by about 10 cm, cut the sleeves to leave her shoulders bare, and created a U-neckline that revealed only the top of her bust.

She added a black bow to her small waist and sewed black-and-white stones around the neckline.

It took Dani only five hours to alter the dress and bring it to Luz's room.

Luz looked at it in awe but didn't try it on. She was still uncomfortable with the idea of going out. Despite the fact that everyone had been nice to her lately, she was afraid that a werewolf would attack her.
