Arisawa Kageya was the lowest-ranked member of the last remaining assassin organization in modern-day Tokyo, Japan. The organization had no rivals, and each mission paid hefty sums. No member knew the real identity of another. Kageya had dedicated everything he had to joining this group—training relentlessly for years. With just two daggers, there was no one he couldn't slice into ribbons in seconds—or even milliseconds.
In the end, he managed to pass the organization's entrance test with perfect results. However, because the organization was small and didn't easily trust newcomers, he was assigned to the lowest rank: F Class. Kageya didn't complain—he believed his luck would turn eventually. He started participating in assassination missions, but he was only ever assigned surveillance duties. This continued for five years, from the age of sixteen to twenty-one.
Though he had saved up a small amount of money, compared to others in the organization, it was nothing. A few weeks later, the organization received a major assassination request—nearly five times higher than any previous mission in terms of payment. Kageya was included in the mission, tasked with watching the building for any potential threats.
However, the target had hired a team composed of the world's best sharpshooters—information that Kageya and the organization were unaware of. They used Kageya as bait. Within seconds, bullets pierced both his eyes and one struck his forehead. Before he even realized what was happening, his brain was blown out.
"Ahh… Where am I? What happened?" Kageya was disoriented as he looked around from where he lay.
"So much rain… I'm soaked." He stood up and looked at a puddle nearby.
"N-No way?! You've got to be kidding." He realized he looked just like his 16-year-old self.
"Why is no one around?" he muttered as he looked around. The place was filled with what looked like medieval buildings. He checked to see if his daggers were still with him.
"Is this a trap or something?"
"Better move to a less exposed area," he said and left the area. After a while, he relaxed a little as he blended into a crowd. As he walked, he cracked his knuckles.
"Holy sh*t!" A small flame burst from his hand and quickly vanished.
At that moment, a girl with bright blonde hair, a stunning figure, and a sword at her waist approached him. She wore armor with an emblem on it.
"You mages! How many times do we have to tell you? No using magic in public areas where civilians might get hurt!"
She noticed the daggers at his waist.
"And why are you carrying daggers?"
"I don't even know where I am! And did she just say magic? What should I say to not attract attention?" he thought.
"I'm sorry, my mistake. I was distracted. And why wouldn't I carry daggers? I saw other people walking around with swords too."
"Are you serious? Mages never use close-combat weapons or anything like that. Anyway…"
"Could you please move aside?"
"Don't use magic in public again. I've memorized your face!" she said, giving him a sharp glare.
Kageya found a quiet alley to spend the night in.
"Sh*t. I look like my 16-year-old self, I have no idea where I am, and flames just came out of my hand. According to her, I'm a mage. This isn't my world," he muttered.
Suddenly, a newspaper on the ground caught his eye.
"That emblem again!" He picked it up and read it, learning some details about the place.
"So I'm in the Eryndor Empire. Adventurers seem really popular here… and they earn pretty well," he thought.
"I'd better head to the adventurer's guild before it gets too late," he said, and started walking. He asked someone for directions along the way.
"So this is the adventurer's guild," he said as he stepped inside. He walked up to the receptionist—an attractive woman in her 30s.
"Hello, I'd like to register with the guild."
"How cute! How old are you, sweetheart?" she asked, pushing her large breasts together with her arms and giving Kageya a warm look.
"T-Twenty-tw—er, sixteen," Kageya replied, momentarily distracted by her chest.
"You're quite young. If you want to be an adventurer at that age, you must be pretty talented," she said with a wink.
"What's your name, sweetie?"
"Kageya."
"What class are you, honey?"
"Assassin… and I guess a mage too?"
"What do you mean? Both classes?" she asked, surprised.
"Well, I guess that's why I want to become an adventurer even though I'm so young."
"Anyway, it's quite late now, and I can't process new registrations at this hour. Do you have a place to stay? You're new around here, right sweetie?" she asked, coming around the desk.
"I haven't found a place yet," he said with a slight smile.
"I've been looking for a roommate for a while. Want to stay with me, sweetie? Since you're going to be an adventurer, you can pay your rent at the end of the month."
"That would be great, thank you!" Kageya said, visibly happy.
"My name's Rina. Shall we head home, sweetie?" she said and they began walking together.
"So where did you come from, sweetie?"
"I'm not entirely sure myself, but it's definitely from far away, Rina-san," Kageya replied with a small laugh.
"You're the mysterious type, huh? I like mysterious guys, sweetie."
"Pssst, redhead! Come over here!" shouted a thug leaning against a wall.
"…" They kept walking.
"Hey! I'm talking to you, b*tch, didn't you hear me?!"
"…" They continued on.
"Hey! I said—" The man reached out and put a hand on Rina's shoulder.
"I told you—" he began, but before he could finish the sentence, Kageya had sliced off his hand with his dagger.
"Aggh?! It hurts! It hurts!!" The thug fell to the ground, gasping in fear.
"She clearly didn't want to talk. Unless you want your other hand gone too, scram," Kageya said, then glanced at Rina's stunned face.
"Was that too harsh, Rina-san?" he said with a smile.
"Thank you so much, sweetie! What did you do just now? You were so fast I couldn't even see it!" she exclaimed, hugging him tightly—pressing her breasts against him.
"I just gave him what he deserved," Kageya said calmly.
"Anyway, let's keep going. It's getting late," he said as they headed to her home.
"Hmm, seems like we have a little problem," Kageya said, noticing the only bed in the room.
"I don't mind sharing a bed. Besides, I kind of owe you, don't I?" she said with a smile.
"If it's fine with you, it's fine with me, Rina-san," Kageya replied, slightly flustered.
"Just call me Rina, sweetie," she said as she began changing clothes. Kageya turned his back.
"You could've warned me first, Rina—I saw your boobs!" he shouted, blushing.
"Damn, they were huge… and the nipples were wide too. Thank you, God," Kageya thought.
"There's no other place to change, and I don't mind you seeing me. You're still just a kid, sweetie," she said with a low chuckle.
"You can look now, sweetie," she said. Kageya turned around to see her in tight pajamas.
"So Rina, are we really going to squeeze into this bed?" he asked.
"We have to. We're splitting the room price, and this is how it comes cheap, sweetie," she said and got into bed, facing him.
"Holy sh*t, I can feel her nipples… This night's going to be rough," Kageya thought.
