“It’s been quiet lately,” Vlad remarked, closing the bedroom door behind him.
He turned to see Liliette sprawled on the bed, her legs playfully swinging in the air. She was dressed in a sheer, translucent chemise, and the rhythmic movement of her pale calves resembled a pendulum. She picked up one of the scattered papers from the pillow.
“I never thought Dandelion would adapt to school so well,” she said, examining the report card her brother had brought.
A few years ago, Dandelion and Antonio had voluntarily enrolled in a boarding school. Antonio had dreams of managing Liliette’s estate one day, while Dandelion sought to improve himself. During the holidays, they had eagerly offered to watch Alexander for a few days. Though Vlad had hesitated at first, he found it to be a good decision in the end.
Vlad sat down gently beside Liliette and peered over her shoulder at Dandelion’s grades.
