Chapter 1
The Child (1)
The gray stone tower cast a hazy shadow over the green lawn below. The sky was clear without a single cloud, yet the inside of the tower was eerily dark; not a single ray of sunlight was allowed to enter. It felt like a place cut off from the world.
At the very top of the tower, a young boy stood nervously in front of a thick iron door leading to a sealed room. He looked to be around fifteen years old. Though dressed in the pure white robes of an imperial priest, there was nothing pious about his appearance. His dirty blond hair mixed with gray, delicate features, and sky-blue eyes formed an almost ethereal combination. He had the kind of refined, youthful beauty of boys that a pederastic noble might keep around for amusement.
The boy turned his lake-like eyes toward the knight standing guard.
“Uh, sir… when does this end?”
