The shadow of Cadis Castle stretched diagonally across the dusty training grounds. Beneath a canopy at the center of the field, a platform and chair had been prepared for Ingrid. Though it had been set up hours ago, the seat remained vacant. She was deliberately taking her time, planning a grand entrance at her leisure.
On either side of the rectangular grounds stood the imperial knights and the Order of de Winter. Among the imperial knights, a sense of unease spread slowly like a sickness creeping through the ranks. After glancing at Marius, who was inspecting his sword, the deputy commander sighed and made his way through the rows to the commander at the front.
