*~Aurora's POV~*
"Oh, now the tables have turned."
He raised his hands in the air, then let out a hideous laugh. I clenched Heather in my hands, knowing I wouldn't be able to strike again—not now, not with Heather here with me.
"I give up," I said. It was pointless to fight. Fighting now would be too dangerous. If Heather weren't here, I'd know exactly what to do—how to get myself out using dark magic. But with her here, things were more complicated. I had to be careful, not act rashly.
I gave him a weak smile, and he nodded approvingly. "Good decision, dear. I knew you were smart. Now, shall we go in? I'd love to introduce you to my demon mates," he said, walking past me. I followed behind him, his long white hair swaying down his back.
I'd never seen a man with hair that long—but did this monster even qualify as a man?
As we got back inside the house, the woman from earlier—the one I'd thrown out of the building—immediately started approaching me, fury burning in her eyes.
