"What is happening…?" Sofia asked suddenly, her voice no longer calm but filled with genuine alarm and awe at the same time as she watched Maria's body slowly rise from the wooden counter. The sight in front of her was unlike anything she had ever seen before. Maria was still unconscious, her limbs relaxed and her head tilted slightly to the side, yet she was floating in the air as if gravity itself had simply stopped applying to her existence. Around her, strange energies began to gather first faint threads, then thicker currents of light and shadow swirling together like living ribbons.
