The process of transferring the sleep-inducing potion went wrong. Before he could hand it over completely, she broke free from his grasp and punched him in the gut. As a result, he choked on the remaining potion and accidentally ingested it himself.
THAT was why he now woke up after an unknown amount of time of being unconscious, and the first thing he saw was a pair of red eyes gazing at him intently from uncomfortably close range. As his vision cleared, he could make out strands of purple hair falling across his face.
"You're alive," Jenny said matter-of-factly, then moved back to give him some breathing room. He could now see the pink ceiling above him—clearly, he was on her side of the room.
"Ugh," he groaned, attempting to sit up, but she immediately pushed him back down with surprising firmness.
"Don't get up yet. Your arms are still growing back," she said, as if this was the most normal thing in the world.
