Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: I Am Nothing but a Joke

In her previous life, because she couldn't have children, she was despised by her husband's family all her life, mocked, cursed, and bullied by her stepchildren for a lifetime, and she toiled and sacrificed for that family all her life.

But in the end, she realized that she was completely used, and she was nothing but a joke.

Thinking of everything she experienced in her past life, she couldn't help but cover her face and cry softly. Once her emotions were almost vented, she couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Thankfully, there was no one else in the ward at the moment. Otherwise, crying and laughing like this, others would definitely think she was crazy.

Looking at the blooming peach blossoms outside the window, she pinched her thigh hard, the piercing pain confirming to her that she had truly been reborn.

And she was reborn to the time when her adoptive mother forced her to marry the jerk, Lyu Juncheng, who was a second-time groom.

These days, she had been in the hospital taking care of Lyu Juncheng's youngest son, Lyu Xiangliang. She saw the boy gradually recover, and he was about to be discharged soon, but when she went out to fetch water, she was unexpectedly pushed down the stairs by Lyu Juncheng's eldest son, Lyu Xiangyang.

Thinking about how she hadn't yet started living with that scumbag Lyu Juncheng and all the hardships had yet to begin, she couldn't help but feel relieved that everything was still in time.

Having realized everything, she took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down.

Thinking that Sister Tian would probably be coming over soon, she slowly got out of bed, ready to go to the restroom.

After stepping out of the ward door and walking forward, she overheard someone mentioning Lyu Juncheng's name when passing by the medical staff's duty room. Her sensitivity made her stop, and she overheard someone inside speaking in a low voice:

"Juncheng, it's unfair for you to treat the young lady like this. You went and had a vasectomy without discussing it with her. If she finds out in the future, how is life supposed to go on?"

A cold voice then came through: "I already have two sons and a daughter and don't need her to have any more. My children can only be born by Yao Qian; no one else qualifies."

Hearing that familiar voice again, she felt a strong urge to rush in and strangle him, but Yu Xinyan worked hard to suppress her inner rage.

The other person in the room clearly didn't expect such words from Lyu Juncheng, and slightly raised their voice: "But how are you going to explain this to your current wife? I heard that your little wife from the countryside is only eighteen."

"What's there to explain? If she can't have kids later, she'll naturally feel guilty and will only be better to my three children, so that they'll be taken care of, and I can focus on my work. I provide her with good food and drink, what else would she not be happy about?"

"Aren't you afraid her family will come after you when they find out?"

"She's just something the Yu Family used to pay off debts. They would have to have the guts to back her up."

So it turns out everything was premeditated from early on, and she was a lamb waiting to be slaughtered. Truly shameless.

Knowing the truth is one thing, but hearing it with her own ears is something else entirely. She badly wanted to kick open that door, but having gone through so much in her past life, she still managed to hold back her temper, telling herself not to act rashly, that there was plenty of time, and she needed to think of a flawless plan to retreat safely.

She walked past the closed door of the medical staff's duty room, feeling so angry that her hands were trembling: in this life, dreaming of making her a free nanny for that family, suffering all their oppression, don't even think about it.

She had just returned to the ward and lay down for a short while when the scumbag Lyu Juncheng pushed the door open and came in. Originally, Yu Xinyan intended to pretend to be asleep and ignore him, but he underestimated the thickness of Lyu Juncheng's skin.
