The other person wore a gentle smile, making it easy for others to feel a sense of goodwill.
Nora Scott wasn't intimidated, her lips bore a smile, gaze neither avoiding nor faltering, meeting the other person's eyes.
Before long, the person approached.
"You were there yesterday too."
Flora Loughton tilted her head slightly, looking at her with interest, eyes full of gentle amusement.
"Yes." Nora admitted frankly, "I came specifically to listen."
Two women, each with their own intentions, speaking with each other quickly removed any sense of unfamiliarity.
Having followed Nora for a while, this was Flora's first conversation with her, which excited Flora, though she maintained her composure for the sake of saving face in front of elders.
She smiled sweetly, "What if I hadn't come?"
Raising her hand, she waved the book she had in her hand, and Nora chuckled lightly, casually and straightforwardly said, "Then I would've read a book."
