Knock knock knock.
Oliver Scott stood outside the door, curling his fingers to knock on it.
"Who is it?"
Sophie's inquiry came from within, her voice soft and choked.
Oliver's expression changed slightly, his eyelids lifted then lowered again, as he softly said, "It's me."
A moment later, the door was opened. Sophie appeared from behind it, her eyes red and swollen, her eyes moist. As soon as she saw Oliver, her eyes blinked and tears rolled down.
"Sis..."
Oliver opened his mouth but saw Sophie raise a hand to wipe her tears and sobbing asked, "Did you see her?"
"Yes."
With an unclear emotion in his eyes, Oliver slightly lowered his head to look at her, softly asking, "Mrs. Shawn said Dad scolded you... are you okay?"
Hearing this, Sophie's tears fell again.
Ernesto Scott, though not close to his children, never scolded them, especially Sophie, to whom he had never spoken a harsh word from childhood to now.
